F150 harley in the snow

Earlier this afternoon i posted a thread about a noise my new ss makes while turning. I then went out for a ride to listen again so i could better describe the noise. While out (its snowing here in connecticut)A harley ford came up next to me at a light. He gave a little nod and then waived his finger forward as if to say "wanna run". So i nodded sure and when the light turned green he punched it and i fairly aggressivly accelerated. Next thing i knew it i was 100 yards in front of him. He didnt move!!!! I then laughed and thought to myself( I think i even said it outloud) This is exactly why I bought this truck and not a harley ford. I can run circles around them IN poor weather. If i didn't live in new england I probably would have bought a lightning but the bottom line is My ss is the most practical sports truck made today!!!!!! Does anyone disagree with that final statement???? ANYONE???? If so you are fooling yourself!!!

AMEN, BROTHER!! You always see magazines and hear people asking what market Chevy is trying to sell to. It's us you fools!!(That is directed towards the press.) All that we ever wanted was an AWD disguised as a sport truck and finally our prayers have been answered. I can't wait for mine to arrive. Only 25 more days (I hope). Thanks for the post bluesilveradoss.

my only reply to that is racing isn't something to be done in fowl weather. i'm all for racing including street racing, but not in the snow or rain for more reasons than not hooking up. the awd is great, a couple hundred pounds of drag anytime it's nice out.

Zippy it doesnt sound like you are an ss owner and that sure sounds like a cop out to me. Also still doesn t answer my final question! If i am wrong than i apologize. If i am right... Well than i will probably forward this message to all ss owners and let them know how ford/dodge owners defend themselves. By the way, It was one of your ford brothers that initiated the challenge. I didnt even race him...... I didnt have to!!!!! He might as well have shut his truck off and tried to run next to me, He probably would have got better traction from his own 2 feet.. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

AWD will help you go, but never helps you stop.... lets not get too confident of flying off the line when things get slick, I don't care what kind of ABS you have, or anything for that matter.... I had my truck out today in the 6" of snow we saw... but I didn't line up with anyone....

Well, I don't think the Harley side is a "0". There are posts at the Harley site of SS kills as we speak. As far as AWD, I live in Phoenix and work in California on occasion, I don't think AWD will do all that much for an SS aginst me in my part of the contry. I havn't a need for AWD. I say this because I'm waiting for the SS regular cab to replace my R/T(decided the SRT-10 is not for me) and the Trailblazer SS for my wife and kids. I bought the Harley as my weekend truck when I am out messing around and wanted good performance and comfort. Iwaited to see what the SS was going to be like and when I found out I went with the Harley for 33K, the AWD didn't sell it to me. Now the regular cab is another story, that will replace my daily driver which is the R/T. Anyway, good run it's nice to get a win when you've just gotten a new vehicle. Have fun, but be safe.

Dont forget your roots ford fellow!!!!

 I haven't forgotten anything. I was just commenting on the AWD advantage. Everyone I talk to thinks it's a mistake that GM used AWD. That's because we never see snow down here, so from our perspective it's a waste. If you live up north, it's obvious you can appreciate it...

I'll stay in the south where it's warm and dry... :D

BTW- None of my GM's have ever been 4wd or AWD....
