Radio stays on after opening door???

I think someone posted a while back on this and the consensus was the door latch sticking that senses the door is open. The fix was to spray some wd40 or like product

So the switch is in the actual latch that holds the door shut?

Truthfully I'm not sure and that's why I didn't specify. Hopefully someone from the other thread can give a response.

Edit.....

 

The switch is thru wiring that runs under the steering column, that goes to the radio. Not sure how it works, except its all electronic. It does go thru your radio.

 

 

Back in the day it was just a plastic switch that stuck out near the door.

the door latch has a mini switch in it that senses when the latch open. bcm signals to the radio to chime. you are most likely dealing with a "lazy" door ajar switch

 

That's the one! LOL

Let me get this right becausey dome lamp was flickering last not and did not always turn on when the door was open

The switch is inside the driver door latch area and by latch I Mean the part on the driver door that grabs the little post on the excab door right?
