Ruf964rgt8
back in 2007 i bought a pair of silverados one day, reg cab short wide beds from the local dealer. the dealer had put proper ss badges on them and oem 20" wheels and tires. both trucks were 4.8 v8, 4l60e, 10 bolt open diff rear axles. one was dark blue, one was victory red. blue one was my wifes, red one is mine. she has since drove hers over 100k miles trouble free and traded it in for a 2010 silverado crew cab with l92 6.2 aluminum motor, 6l90e trans, 10 bolt open diff axle. then traded that in for a 2010 hummer h3 alpha adventure truck. h3 is factory l33 5.3 aluminum ls truck motor, 4l60e, 10 bolt rear axle with front and rear lockers, adventure package has the 4:1 transfer case. all of this infor just leads to my history with the gm ls motors. i still have the red 07 silverado classic clone. again, its not a factory oem ss, it is a dealer add on clone. but being a reg cab swb with a v8 it was decently potent. never had any problems with any of the drive train at all. has been a very reliable truck. but in the quest of "must go faster" it is again under the knife, as always. never ending project. it now has a l92 aluminum ls 6.2v8 that is 403hp in stock form. now has stainless headers, cnc ported heads, patriot stage 3 cam .595lift. going to change the intake from the truck intake to the ls3 intake and use a fast 100mm tb. cold air intake system, dual stainless flowmasters. and a tune. conservatively makes 500hp. so although the 4l60e never quivered, i decided i wanted a 4l80e instead, so now i have one, lol. fairly stock trans tho. then i decided the rear axle would give out although it never did. so i went and got a 14bolt sf 2500 rear disc brake axle that was a factory g80 detroit locker 3:73 gears. i have a machine shop so i redrilled the 8lug axles with the 6lug pattern and put 6lug front rotors on the rear. body wise it is a silverado classic reg cab, short wide bed. has some minor bruises and bumps so i am going to start massaging her in the next couple of wks and then repaint her back in victory red again.
