Brunswicks SS
I have a 2003 Silverado and am upgrading the alternator for a new system. Do these trucks have 2,3 or 4 pin alternators? Thanks
chawkins6789
4 pin plug 3 pins inside it. Newer ones are 2 pin. It screwed me when I got my DC Power alternator. They fixed it for me Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using Xparent Red Tapatalk

chawkins6789
What alternator are you going to put on?
Brunswicks SS
Tenney 300A. Should be plug and play, what size DC are you running and what's it for
chawkins6789
300. I had bad dimming issues with accessories plugged in, headlights on, and stereo doing it's thing.
Brunswicks SS
What kind of stereo? I went 300 so I can run c&d batterie free. I'm gonna be running about 3.5 RMS but eventually going remove seat an put in a 18 for shits and giggles
chawkins6789
Pioneer AVH-P4400BH, Polk DXi6500's and Polk DXi460p's off deck power, 2 JL 10w3's being pushed by a Fosgate 750w monoblock
Brunswicks SS
Surprised you had that bad of dimming with a 750 although it is probably around 850 but still usually stock cars are good for 1k. Do you have the big 3? Those usually kill a lot of dimming on any car.
chawkins6789
I didn't at the time. I noticed the dimming driving through Utah. Tablet hooked up, phone charging, radio pushing hard, lows and fogs on, heater on high, and wipers on high. It was about 2 am. I did the big 3 at the same time as the alternator. If you get a 2 pin your truck will say service brake booster. So I sent it back to DC and the made things right. Great customer service. For the big 3 I used Stinger HPM 1/0 AWG oxygen free copper cable with 24k gold plated stinger ring terminals Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using Xparent Red Tapatalk

Brunswicks SS
Dam Tenney sent me a 2 pin
chawkins6789
Send it back. I had to send mine back to DC Power and they had to add a stator out lead. To the 3rd pin. It will work but the DIC will say "SERVICE BRAKE BOOSTER" Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using Xparent Red Tapatalk
