An extra 200-300$ a month goes a long way and in some cases is better than one lump sum. I'd hold onto that truck especially now with the sentimental value. I am terribly sorry to hear about your friend, it's awesome of you to step up and help his wife in her time of need. Good on you buddy, I wish you the best of luck in the future.
