Well since I sold my SS I have been thinking bout different options to make my 1500HD a little cooler and nicer, more like my SS.

I have been thinking about doing something to my tail lights. I loved the smoked tail lights I had in my SS.

I was looking for some advice, and see what you guys think about these options. FYI: My 1500HD is black, I am thinking about also doing smoked headlights (like my SS), and Im already ordered some black rims.

Option #1: Red LED's and third brake light

Option #2: Slightly Smoked LED's and the closes matching third brake light

Option #3: Option #1 but have them professionally painted black.

I can try to find a local shop to paint them, but so far every shop I have asked said not they wont smoke tail lights, too much liability. I can also have danny (sprayed99) do mine

And No I wont even think about using nightshades.

Option #4: Professorially painted stock tail lights

just like the above option I can have a local shop or danny do them. The biggest problem is that I really cant afford much down time. I found a guy online who will send me painted OEM tail lights and third brake light for $250, and he will give me a little bit back when I return my stock ones. He will paint them any darkeness I want and will also tape off the third brake light so I do not have visibility issues.

Option #5: Leave them stock you idiot, and so something else with the money!

I have option number 2 for the tail lights and love them. I would have the third brake light professionally smoked to match the tail lights. I can't seem to find a third brake light to match the tails.

yeah that is one of the problems with #2 is that there really isnt a third brake light that matches. I could have them professionally done, but it such a light smoke it might now be worth it.

I vote for the third option. Danny ( sprayed99) did mine and I love them. Only negative is the backup lights are very dim when backing up. That along with my tint makes backing at night tough. If u get them sprayed, I highly recommend Danny if he is available.

My truck is black, too, and I've thought about this quite a bit in the past.

Almost jumped for a set of the Recons in the first year I owned her. Thought a lot about getting them painted by Sprayed99,

but in the end decided I like the red stockers against the black truck. (I am no fan of the "murdered" look. I like the little bit of sparckle these black trucks have).

Savin' my bucks to go for other mods.

I own #2 version 3rd brake light that I am planning to add on a 2000 Chevy Silverado and the SSS has this version http://www.ebay.com/itm/Putco-99-06-Chevy-Silverado-Third-Brake-Light-Stop-LED-3rd-Brake-Lights-Smoke-/230955138886?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35c5ffbf46&vxp=mtr I personally like the one I have on the SSS

Those Recon lights are nice, they are more expensive, but may be worth it vs. buying ones from Fleebay

Found some on Amazon

Not sure If I like the third brake light that matches it. I wish they would make a third brake light that is red then lightly smoked like the tail lights, but they are always either clear with smoke, or plain red
