chawkins6789
I may need a cat. Problem is, I have 2 and apparently CA 6.0's had 4. Can someone post a pic of the stock configuration? rickyrick562
I only have 2 high flow and I still passed smog cats and thats also with LTs. I think 4 is too much
D1SCSS
I'll take a look at mine in the morning. I believe I only have 2 cats on my truck? I can also look at the smog book at work to find out how many you should have.
chawkins6789
From what in see on ARB it's 4. I don't know how 4 would be configured and I believe your SS is federal emissions. They lived in Virginia for a while Sent from my DROID RAZR MAXX using Xparent Red Tapatalk
Ruben525
I'm 90% sure mine only had 2 and I passed smog
VinceVega06
Two cats on mine! I set my tune to stock and I had to go back at a later time cause my truck had to relearn itself. Other than that no problem.

Ruben525
Which shop did you go to? Maybe you should try another shop you shouldn't have a problem
BLOWN SS/T
I'm sure it's only 2 I don't have my truck right now or I'd take a look at it for you. That sounds like a mustang rule lol. And what shop is this, I work in bakersfield and there's tons of shops that around this side that won't give you crap. I'll to a buddy that works at smog shop incase someone tells you 4 cats are needed and I'm sure he'll get it worked out for you. I'm a few miles north of you. chawkins6789
I have to visit the smog nazi, but I havent went to a shop yet. I want to be armed with infor before spending$1000 in cats. If I do that I will just buy stockers
BLOWN SS/T
I'm almost 100% sure (which I know isnt good enough lol) it's only the two after the manifolds and I think one sits lower in the exhaust system then into that y merge if it's a stock SS exhaust. And I'm sure it's only going to be the smog nazi's that'll actually do a visual which won't hold you from passing the actual smog test itself, it should be just fine with 2 on the rollers and sniffer. BlueAKSSS
I bought my 2003 SS out of California in 2009 and its totally stock and has only two cats. I bought the truck from the original owner who bought it new in Cali so I would say you are 100% good to go with two.
JC03SS
I've never seen or heard of one with 4. I'm positive it's only 2.

D1SCSS
I just looked in the 2013 CA smog book on page 63-17. It says you should have 2 three way cats on the veh. I also checked my parts dept. and they dont list a 2004 truck with 4 cats. Let me know if you need any more assistance.
