Bnax
Hello, long time GTP owner that just jumped into my first truck a 2003 Silverado SS with 95,000 Miles on it. Basically I'm the second owner I have been looking though the how to's and bolt on's trying to figure out the best bang for the buck mods to do for both performance and mileage. So besides, cold air intake, headers, cats, y pipe what are some other good bolt on's / mods? Thanks Brandon
Downeast Johnny
Hey Brandon Welcome to the site and congrats on scoring your truck. Aside from the mods you've listed you could add a 160* thermostat and a tune, (I used Zippy), and look into beefing up your trans a bit. Joe Roknic
Welcome Brandon.... electric fans, and electric water pump will free up some horsepower... different stall. Heads and cam depending how far you wana go with it Edited July 7, 2013 by SS Muscle Truck (see edit history)
JC03SS
Welcome to the site. All these bolt on's stated above are great. Just forget about the fuel mileage before you ever get your hopes up. These trucks don't get good gas mileage. I bought mine because its a beautiful truck and I wanted to make it fast. GL

Bnax
Thanks for the warm welcome. I agree the reason I got this truck was not mileage but hey if you can make power and help mileage out at the same time win win The 160 stat I was looking at doing as well. Looks like there is some good debate on here with what hand scanner to use or to just go get a pro tune.

Bnax
Any particular mail order tunes that people like? I am going to look at a local speed shop here to see about a tune as well.
