Need info on lowering kits

Recommended Posts

Id like to drop the SS, to a nice ride height, but not to compromise the ride quality. Any suggestions on how much to drop and where to score the kit???

http://www.supertruckusa.com/products/76105_310.htm Here's a link to what I have, I think it was 2 inch drop all the way around. Trim the snubblers down and it rides great. You need to borrow / rent a Torsion bar key tool to do it and the rear drop shackles are kind of a pain other then that, pretty simple.

Product Details

Use an inferior-quality lowering kit and you could turn your best ride
into your worst nightmare. Driveline alignment, tracking, handling and
ride quality could be severely compromised. Small bumps could send shock
waves up your spine. And chasis vibration could become the new
soundtrack to your life. But do it right, and the results will astound
you.

Authentic Ground Force Lowering Suspension Systems are engineered to
enhance ride quality while radically improving handling and performance.
The entire system is precision tuned and load tested to eliminate
vibration and harshness, and optimize sporting characteristics. And to
keep it simple, our single-part-number box contains everything needed to
complete your drop, without cutting or welding.

Any lowering kit, can make your truck look good. But after the pictures,
you have to live with the choice you make. Its your ride. Lower it
right

Spindles FTW. Ill never lowr a truck a different way I the front again unless I did those 2-3" drop arms from bell tech. My truck isn't an ss so I lowered it 4" to make it level in the back, thinking avout going up one notch on the hanger. With short bump stops and rear drop shocks mine would ride great.

You lose turning radius with those spindles. Ive been lowering these sss trucks for over 10 years now. Trust me on this after how many kits ive sold here and installed locally this is the best bet and its adjustable 2-3 inches in front and 3-4 in rear
