SmalltownSS
I was just wondering if anyone knew what temperature the 4l65 should be run at to avoid damage or premature wear. Just got back from a road trip, pulling the new 18ft enclosed trailer 5000lbs average temp was 185-190 199 on long hills. This is from the factory temp sender, I have an edge insight cts hooked up to my obd-2 port that shows transmission temp.
kcsilveradoss
That, in my humble opinion, is perfectly fine...
BLNAWAY
I upgraded my trans cooler, shift kit,and servos highest I've seen is 160-170 deg towing on hot days, normal everyday driving temp sits steady at 150deg
JC03SS
I rarely get over 150 with the truecool max. But your about right. Should be fine there.
Fireman31
That's normal, if it was 220* plus, I would be concerned.......
zachm89
Nothing to worry about with those temps, but it would help out a lot if you throw an aftermarket cooler on there. You can pick up the Trucool 40k for under 150 bucks and its cheap insurance to keep your trans temps way down.
