I am getting ready to park my truck in the next month or so for winter and it will be receiving mods. I have a complete ls2 top end which includes: 243 heads, intake, and throttle body. I will be going with pacesetter LT's and full dual 3 inch exhaust into a magna cross flow with no cats. Cam is still in question as of right now. I will be tuning this myself cause I have hp tuners. If your experienced with SD tuning then go for it but in my opinion it's not worth it. When you decided to boost it (and one day you will) then I would consider switching over.
