evandostert
I found a junk yard deal. Want to make sure it's interchangable. 99 silverado 6.0 block. I know it has iron heads but for a 408 build. They are significantly cheaper than a lq9. Aside from the heads and the crank are going to be thrown out for a nice 408 assembly and aftermarket heads. Any reason I can't use this block?
desrtrat
the only thing i can remember was a possible difference in the cam bearings. back in 03-04 people were doing cam swaps on there SS and were experiencing spun bearing issues. weather it was the cams, or the bearings that was causing the issues, i can not remember...sorry
cesar_
IIRC those engines only bolt on to a certain type of 4l80e, i think there is a camel hump near the flexplate area. I would get another engine just to be safe, but an adapter for the bellhousing could exist.
