NipRing
I have an '03 and there is a guy on my local CL selling the '05 efans. He claims there is a gain of 20+ hp. Is this true? He's asking 275 obo no harness though just fans in shroud.
JC03SS
I did the swap and I can't feel anything at all. I can't say yes or no but there nice and keeps the truck pretty cool.
MID12sSSS
You don't necessarily "gain" hp. You more or less "free up" hp by removing the extra rotational mass of a mechanical fan. Your motor needs to drive all of your accessories and they are a draw on your motor. They sap hp. Same concept with an electric water pump. Less drag on your motor frees up more hp. It's not a lot, but ever little bit helps. It all adds up. BlueAKSSS
Pretty much everything Brandon said^^ It also gets rid of the annoying roar of the clutch fan when your truck is cold, but I'm one to talk I still have the clutch fan... LOL
AdamVRed03
What all these guys said
Brentd
E fans (especially when tuned to turn on at a lower temp) are not exactly whisper quiet lol
MID12sSSS
^^ that's why you don't have them tuned for lower temps. LOL. I can't remember what I have my fan 1/ fan 2 on/off temps at. I'll look when I have a sec.
JC03SS
I don't know what mine are set at either but there way quieter than my lady's escalade fans. You can't even hear mine.
canadianVRss
They're nice to have at the track with a spare tune, so that your fans stay on when you turn the truck off. Also program them to stay on most of the time.
Brentd
Mine will come on after driving for about 5 minutes and typically stay on...it does keep the temps down, but I believe they both kick on so thats why it is so loud...I forgot what he said he set them at but they are not shy about powering up lol
idahoBLKss
i would buy them for the simple fact that it cleans up the engine bay and makes it soooo much nicer to work on anything in the engine bay, frees up a metric crap ton of room and sure you should gain a lil hp in theory.
