I worry about my truck getting stolen every day.

And i don't even live in a huge city or a bad neighborhood. But with every dollar i put into it, every coat of wax i put on it, i worry that its looking too good, too good for some f'r not to steal. It'd kill me. I feel for those that have had it done to them.

I've been looking around for some security type products to keep thieves out. After watching that episode of American Underworld, seeing how easy it was to steal that Silverado, I gotta do something. For example, i found this product to keep them from prying out the handles. http://www.trucksecurity.com/TScom,%20product%20JJ.htm

And another product to keep them from getting the hood open through the grill http://www.trucksecurity.com/TScom,%20product%20AutoguardGM.html

Another to keep the tailgate from being taken http://www.trucksecurity.com/TScom,%20product%20GK.htm or one like this http://www.ebay.com/itm/Master-Lock-8253DAT-Tailgate-Lock-/231170606199?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35d2d78477&vxp=mtr&nma=true&si=I9ZNpj4iPqp78KFdo2SLqxQxv9o%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l255

The stuff listed above are all $40 or under.

Of course there is Ravelco at $500 but i hear its unbeatable http://www.defeatthethief.com

I have aftermarket rims. And i know there is a product out there for stock rims that goes under the wheel cover and keep people from your lug nuts, but i can't remember the name of it. For myself i've been thinking of searching out some hardened (arp maybe?) hub studs and go with spline wheel locks on every stud.

Anybody have any others?

Those spline drive lugs won't do you any good against a thief. Its either mcgard or gorilla that now makes a keyed lug but with a outer collar that spins freely so a thief can't simply hammer a socket on a turn the locking lug off. Also for keeping the whole truck safe just wire a kill switch to the fuel pump and hide the switch somewhere. They'll have to tow the truck to steal it. If they want it that bad, I always say let em have it. I have plenty of 7.62 and .223 for if I ever see them lmao.

I agree, If they want it they will tow it. Its not hard to slip the trans into neutral and tow it silently and be gone in under a minute.

There is only so much you can do before thiefs cath up with the times and going beyond that. The best place is a garage if you have one. If not park another car behind it.

I new a guy a few years back that needed part for his car and on several ocations he would do down to the commuter parking lot and steal whatever he needed( brakes, rotors, wheels etc).

One time his buddy needed a bumper for a Ford Taurus so they found a donor car if you will, returned that night and removed the bumper in the guys driveway.

Imagine waking up and heading to work and noticing your bumper missing off of tour car.

I have an extra 10k added to my insurance policy in the event of a total loss + I'll be adding another 10k when I'm done modding. This way if it does get stolen or it gets totaled...whatever, I'll have at least 40k to go buy another!
