LSR Mike
Well guys and gals I got back Sunday night from Bonneville. I towed my Mitsubishi up and back from Huntington Beach, Ca (690 Miles each way). This SS is a great Tow Vehicle. Through the Cajon Pass, up Baker Grade in the middle of the Mojave desert, and the 93 and 318 in Nevada, the truck did a magnificent job. The Tranny temp would build on the tough uphills, but shifting and power were spot on for the situations. even the brakes were up to snuff in the few instances where people would cut in front and jam the brakes (what's wrong with these people?). The only annoyance was a tendency to stay in low gear on long inclines with the cruise on at 75MPH, I would have to snap off the cruise and modulate the accelerator pedal to drop it out of low gear. One of the reasons I bought the SS was the tow rating, Now I know I made the right decision.

IdriveGTP
All I can think of while looking at that picture is, "Where is the nearest car wash?"
Dylan06SS
Awesome! I know that drive well and the SS always takes it like a champ. So how fast did your other truck run out there?
LSR Mike
Ha, The nearest Car Wash is behind the Smith's Store in Wendover, 10 miles away, they clean up thier stalls after us, and actually return the salt to the Racecourse. The little Mitsubishi ran 105.866MPH, still 20 MPH off the Class Record but not bad for a Stock 165K mile engine. I got in 17 passes over the 4 days of racing and got a load of tuning info. The time slips come with all the weather data at the time of the run. This winter the little 4 banger gets a makeover, I think I can find the extra 20 MPH......
