Just find a bed and tailgate and throw that setup on Craigslist and try to talk a kid into buying it. Or even better trade for his good bed and tailgate. It can be saved. It could be changed back to it's original look. That is if the right person was to buy it who wanted to undo the stuff this owner did. At least that is what I would do.
