coal miner
We'll I'm slowly gathering parts up for a small top end build. I want something that has a real good sound at idle. I plan on doing a converter to but idk what stall yet. I never tow and I just drive it on the weekends and around town. I want a cam that will give me the most out of this setup and get me down the track. Here's a list of my mods - tbss intake with 87mm tb ported and polished. -243 heads out of a 07 vette -around 11.1 cr -Arh 1 7/8 headers - full exhaust -electric fans -ngk tr6 plugs and msd wires -160 thermostat - tuned by zippy -also have some pushrods and scorpion rocker arms for the install I also might be going with a 100-150 shot of nitrous in the future. rcapone
I just had mine spec'd by Ed Curtis of Flowtech Induction. From the research I did on cam spec'ers, I'm pretty sure he's one of the best in the business, BUT he's a little pricey. Then again, for such an important engine component, it was def. worth it IMO. Here's a link to his website if you'd like to check it out. http://www.flowtechinduction.com/small-block-gen3-lsx-1/
zachm89
Forget having to pay someone to spec you a cam... If Zippy is doing your tuning, talk to him about the cam. He has more than enough knowledge and experience to help you pick a cam and he already knows the truck and how it runs from doing the tuning. rcapone
I agree, Zippy tunes my truck and can steer you in the right direction if you're wanting an off the shelf cam. And please note that I did not advise you to have a custom grind spec'd (however you can have it done for only $25.00 through EPS). Ed Curtis will only spec a cam if you buy it from him, which is what I chose to do...actually, I did both and chose to have Ed do it because Zippy advised me that the spec from EPS was too big. I was just sharing my experience and offering an alternative choice.
12'SROCK
Ed Curtis has some of the baddest cams. I am running his custom FTI Streetsweeper HT cam
rcapone
Streetsweeper - That's funny...Not only a fitting name for Ed's cam, but probably for your truck too since you're putting down such great numbers!

coal miner
Do you run pump gas on 11.5 cr? I'm thinking of having my 243 heads milled to 60 cc.
