Better power w/ stock muffler

Hey Guys-

Just an FYI. I got tired of listening to my droning Flowmaster and went back to the stock muffler. The absolute best time (G-timer) I had ever had with my truck prior to sitching back to stock was 13.30 at 102.1. I ran it this afternoon with the GM muffler back in place and ran 13.08 at 104.7........and I can still have a conversation on my cell phone. If you're going with aftermarket exhaust avoid flowmaster.

Or just avoid the 40, 50, 60, and 80 series Flowmaster mufflers. The 70 series big block mufflers are just fine (I have one and it is great).

i am running a flowmaster 50 series...not sure if it flows any better...but it sure sounds better IMO...i guess if i do loose a bit of performance :banghead:  i gain a little bit of "damn that thing idles nice" :cool: ...

:withstupid::thumbs:

I actually felt difference when I installed my flowmasters. No track or G tech times though.

The Flows just added a little SOTP feel, the stickers....... they took seconds off my time. :jester::yellow_loser:

I guess my gains w/ the flowmasters must be a fluke :wtf:

over stock, they possibly flow a bit better, but they still r by farr not teh "flow master"...

Where the flowmasters all you added dylan? or did u change the entire exhaust? :seeya:

Ive run a variety of setups... but now I'm back to 3.5'' pipe straight back to a pair of 1-in-1-out 50 series flows (40's were too raspy IMO) and dumped under the truck. :driving:
