Painting grills

How many people actually got their grills painted professionally? If not, what paint did you use? A little worried about using a crappy spray paint and it chipping. Thanks.

I painted my grill myself with dupli-color trim paint (spray can) it works great! I painted it 6 months ago no issues no chip paint. of course i used more than one coat

I have mine painted been like that for 2 years but I do have a few touch ups on it from rock chips

Here's my thread, from idea, to paint, to few month follow up on chips. Looks great,the lower grille took some good hits. But that'd happen no matter who painted it really

I used a spray gun to paint them and no problems, but it doesn't really matter, that paint will stick to it regardless just make sure to use some adhesive promoter first and you are good

I used spray paint on mine then a few months later it had a few chips. I got kinda lucky and wife hit a bird that broke the mesh and ins paid for a new complete grille and body shop painted the mesh black. No chips since.
