TurbochargedBerserker
I started noticing a lot of KR recently and have finally nailed it down to between gears... In other words, I get no KR under accel, but during the shift, get lots of KR until 2nd gear engages. I've also noticed that I get more KR between 1st and 2nd than 2nd and 3rd, and more with the TC locked. Does that make sense from a tranny point of view (because it sure doesn't from a tune point of view)?
XGMTech
time to get that FLP in there!
GEAR M UP
My first or second tranny did that. It made it another 5-6 miles after that and then she up and died.... It looks like the L5 will be in sooner then you think........

BenKey
Would engine knock between shifts indicate a impending tranny failure? That sounds a little odd to me. Sounds like a more common tuning issue, since I remember a while back you were working out the KR during the shifts. Has the tranny been slipping at all? Show or hear any mechanical things going on? It isn't like one cell of KR its more like 10 and you can see each cell light up. It does make a zinging noise in first and second and its been slipping the 1-2 shift since the first weekend the turbo was on Before I was working on KR on a downshift (which turns out to be tranny related, too IMO -- we've had good success elminating this by bumping up the TCC apply points by 5 mph or so). deezel
I haven't observed KR on upshifts, only downshifts... Do you still have any upshift torque reduction enabled?

No TM at all. It's very weird (this current thing) I only see KR while the truck is 'between' gears. While its in first no KR, KR as soon as it leaves first, and then once it hits second, no more KR
Uncle Caleetro
What do you mean by KR? I think I am also having some tranny problems, because at part throttle, the 1-2 shift is weird. It starts going out of 1st, revs up ~100 or 200 RPM, then shifts into 2nd. The 2-3 shift at WOT is really bad too, it hits the shift point in 2nd, and like drops out of gear and causes a horrible loss of momentum and lurching, then shifts into 3rd. All of my shifts seem a lot more hesitant than before. Is it time to see the dealer, and if so, this should be covered under warranty since I haven't modified anything, right? TurbochargedBerserker
KR = knock retard. I'd take it in to the dealer if I was in your shoes. Since it's not modded, you've got nothing to lose.
