03_SILVERADO_SS.
13MPG out of the blazer is pretty good, I had a ZR2 blazer and that was about right, my SS gets 14 with mixed driving. Tell your best friend to lay off the gas, I know it's cool to pull out full throttle and the tires don't spin, but it gets expensive!!!
SuperDave
My gas mileage is 100% dependent upon how far my foot is in the throttle! Never use more than 1/2 throttle, and coast last 50 ft to each stop sign, don't idle longer than 20 seconds, and drive the speed limits. That'll guarantee you the best mileage the SS is capable of. ginnie ss
Well I think my mileage is Terrible--12.9 and I am Stock!! "BUT" I don't care--I LOVE my SS. Oh yea when we pull the trailer it's about 9 mpg. Ginnie
Dylan06SS
Don't even think of getting an SS (or any other big V8 truck) if your concerned about mileage Best I've seen is about 13-14mpg... but economy isn't the reason to buy something like this. slimsoftball
Every once in awhile if I try I can keep the instant milage on 1 MPG for a mile or so.

SSilverad03
Haven't we already gone through this before, it's not miles per gallon it's smiles per gallon ! Oh by the way I average 13.5 overall.
thallent
Taking the baby back and forth to daycare I see about 12.7 and on two of my last trips for work it was alot better. For 165 miles I averaged 17.5 and for a 70 mile trip i averaged 18.5. My average for local commutes seemed to have gone down from low to mid 13's after the catback was installed. But the average also went up for the highway rides which used to be mid 16's at the same time.
