zippy
265/70R17 is the same height as what the SS comes with, just 10mm skinnier.

zippy
it helps, but not neccessary if you get the right tread pattern.
m396 #00-011
it helps, but not neccessary if you get the right tread pattern. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The Escalade 17"x7.5" take offs would make a good winter set.
Bob_the_builder
For the winter I am riding on LT265/75R16/D BF Goodrich. It has an overall diameter 31.8 same as the SS. I have had the tires on for 4 days now and I am loving them so far. Bob
PewterC3
it might defeat the purpose but Nitto makes a 275/65-17 that will fit the 7.5" rims and is about .7" shorter then the 265/70-17...plus it's speed rated to 130. http://www.nittotire.com/tires_404.asp then you'd have a lower profile wheel and tire set for your truck to wear at the track....and with the AWD you don't really need aggressive winter tires any way... right? billsws6
maybe in texas you dont need an agressive tire but up here in new york you do. i got wheels taken off an avalanche, now just trying to figure out what tire to buy. im looking at these- dunlop radial rover rv xt, nokian wr (the nokians are on the wifes suv year round) these two dont seem to be quite as aggresive as a full winter tire, i still want the ss to handle well.
