Jim7
Ok got a 04 ss about 4-5 months ago and going to take it in for the first time to work some of the bugs out...I know I've read about some other people having some of these problems but can't seem to find the posts to look for the fixes... 1. When going slow (parking lot speed) make a turn right or left about 1/2 to full deflection of the front wheels and there is a noise comming form the front end all most like c/v joints or ball joints or power steering pump...P.S. could also do it at high speed just havent had the balls to try it.... 2. Truck pulls to the left at highway speeds.... 3. Constant squeek from the front end... you can also get it to do it if you rock the truck sounds like a shock or bad bushing... 4. Some kind of noise comming from back behind the steering wheel all most like the fan but it does it when the blower is in the off position and the truck is in park not moving so I know its not wind noise.... 5. In rain or just washing the truck water forms on the back side of the drivers side turn/driving light (on the inside) Any help wold be great so I can go to the dealer knowing about other people's trucks.... thanks Jim
cadowns
Sounds like you should get that front Diff checked. Look at the Drive train section. CD
SPEEDCRAVIN
Your noise in the front end sounds like the same noise that most all have that wont be fixed. This is just the nature of the beast with these trucks. All three of mine have had this same groan noise, not a bid deal. You can find a lot of info and treads on this subject in drivetrain/trans section. you will also see that a lot of peoples trucks have had a lot of parts thrown at them for this issue and nothing to my knowledge has fixed it. Lots of luck, JOSH
cerbomark
squeeking noise is most likey front shock bushings. Had mine fixed under warrenty at less than 500 miles. No big deal. Also had low speed turning noise that no one can seem to identify or fix. (Just left it alone). You ll most likely get a feeling(rattle) in the steering wheels on slight turns at medium speeds. Steering control arm is been a problem. Waiting for part to be ordered. I m a Chevy fan but it s getting harder to accept the quality control after having so many little things wrong on a new truck. I guess I ll enjoy it for whats it is. Maybe it will last over the long haul???
TBSS
My 'clunk' turned out to be a frame crossmember that needed to be tightened, very common with full size Chevys.
