dros44
I have a corsa exhaust installed and I was wondering what would be the next mod i can do that would add the most hp. Well except for a sc. I was thinking between arizona speed and marine headers, a volant air intake and scoop, or a pcm for less tune. Does anybody have any suggestions on what would be the best for me to do and what would give me the most amoutn of hp?

dros44
But which would add the most hp? would it be the headers or a pcm tune. Because I have a been told that a PCM tune would add over 32+ hp and that the headers would add around 22 hp. I need some help lol.
BeefTip
Most suggest a pcm tune to go along with headers, i think they can cause the engine to run on the rich side.

zippy
next on the list i'd recomend is a pcmforless tune and a volant box with ram air tube.
dros44
Well it def seems you know youe stuff. I might have to do that. I was thinking along those lines anyway. Dylan06SS
I would suggest to do all your basic bolt on mods first. Headers, CAI, etc... then do the PCM to make the most of those mods. If you do the PCM first your gonna need to send it back in for a retune when you do the other mods anyways... might as well save the time and $$$. dros44
SO your saying to do the cai and the headers and then the pcm tune. Still wondering abput the hp gains. Id love to know
zippy
very true, but the stock programming is awfull for any for any real performance. i'd rather just send it back on occasion if i were in that spot. you could also just buy a tuner program and either do the programming yourself or have someone like bryan do a tune for you, e-mail it to you, and install it with your programming kit. not sure if bryan does that or not, but some companies will e-mail you a tune at a discounted rate if you have the software to install it. zippy
electric fans are a nice mod, certainly worth it to me.
dros44
So you would recommend e fans, headers, cai, and then a pcm tune. how much hp would I be looking at there. Somewhere around 60 maybe? that would be fantastic. I would love to get some kind of number.
zippy
if you did all of that i'd guess somewhere around a 40-45hp increase at the wheels. that is just a guess though. more importantly is that list would put you about a half second or so faster than what you are right now. BeefTip
Hey dros44, my brother started out with exhaust(he just went with cutouts, awesome sound, not sure of any real gains or not), and a volant and pcm for less tune. The cutouts went on first then the volant and pcm tune at the same time. There was a very noticable increase with the tune and volant(mostly the tune obviously). Im not sure about actual hp increase id say around 30 or so, but the removal of Torque Management and change in shift points made it much more fun to drive. It got rid of that dead spot at around 65 or so, i cant remember where exactly it was. He is getting a cam, headers and stall next and he will just send the comp back to get it reprogrammed for the mods. PCM for less is cheap enough that you can send it back several times and it will still be cheaper than some of the other tuners. After those mods, i think he pulled a 14.8 which is around average i guess, even though some claim that stock. Best mph was around 90 or 91. We are hoping to improve on these numbers with those mods though!
