TimC3
I need to replace two bent rims on my truck... Can I trust remanufactured rims? The price difference between new OEM wheels and remanufactured is huge ($350 vs ~$150).. What do you think? Anyone bought these before? Or anyone have an idea where I can get OEM rims at a cheaper price?
Nightshift
Look around online, eBay has 2 or 3 sets at any given time. You can pick up a set $800ish, then sell the other extra 2. Several on here are looking for single rims for spares. WW
TimC3
Yeah I've been looking on Ebay.. I have found several sets for the SS, but none that are an exact match for my C3.. I'll keep looking though.. If I buy four I might just sell one and keep one as a spare for me.. I hate that they give you a 16 inch spare when all the rest are 17's (or 20's on the SS).. I've heard that driving with different sized wheels is very hard on the axles/differentials... Any truth to that? Why would they give you something that could possibly damage the truck?!? edessa
I think the tire on the spare 16" wheel makes up for the difference. So I was told. I know if you drive on different size tires it will ruin the AWD tranfer case.
styleandspeed
Most places that remanufacture rims know what they are doing. I still wouldn't buy them without seeing them first.
