steveslot
I have that front diff growl, sounds like I have mud tires up front looking into options for a reman diff I came across this AWD axle disconnect on Amazon. is this that part I need to convert over to two wheel drive. I tried just dropping the front axle. did not sound like the transfer case was a fan of that plan, so I put it right back together. if possible, I wanna go to two wheel drive, will be moving to florida in a year or two, so dont need AWD, but I liove my 2003 silverado SS what you guys think? https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00BLV3GX0/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new
red4thgen
If you disconnect the front diff you're going to lose 40% power. I took off the front drive shaft for a few weeks because I had the same problem. Sent from my SM-G920V using Tapatalk

SS-GTP
That axle disconnect does not even fit on a silverado, nor would it convert a it to 2WD. This is just a service replacement part for whatever vehicle it does fits (does not fit silverado).

Just run it without the front prop shaft. Highly un-recommended. Buy a used np246 case, swap out the 149. You can run that without a front shaft without harming it.
