My brothers 03 ss has a volant intake, cutouts and a pcmforless tune. A few days ago it threw an engine code. He went to Autozone to have the code read but when my brother told him he had a comp tune, the guy said that he could read the codes because if he did it would fry the comp tune. I told my brother that it should be ok to get them to check it, but i wanted to see what you guys thought first. :dunno:

Autozone guy was lying through his teeth :)  Or just stupid.

I say stupid,

I went last week to the local autozone and told him that I needed the P/N for an AC Delco oil filter for a 2003 Silverado SS. He said they don't exist. After I took him outside and showed him the truck he told me that "all that extra body stuff is aftermarket". I about slapped that fool, but I just got in my truck and will never return.

nothings worse than the people who work at the oil and filter dept. at wal-mart...took my gf's cavalier there and they forgot to put back in the drain plug...needless to say we decide to take a drive and all of a sudden, tap tap tap...im like what???!! pop the hood and about 1 qt. of oil left. never again. but made a smart deal, i had them sign a paper saying that in the future if there is any internal damage on her car that they would be held responsible, nothing yet :banghead:
