Bodie
I just got my new Issue Of Hot Rod.Chevy Let them Test the regular cabSS For a little while. They said It ran well, but no hard Numbers. They said chevy was not talking about When it would be made. But said if it was it would possibly have the 345hp/380-lb-ft LQ9 6.0l From the Escalade with the 4L60E Trans.I don't understand why they would not build it like they showed it? they have something good here why not go with it? shawn_butler
Has anyone that saw the article noticed the SS logo on the tach? My SS does not have this logo, why would they have it on a proto then remvoe it for production? It doesn't make sense.
Extreme4x4
It probably cost an extra .34 per unit. I don't see why you are surprised Bodie. GM has shown that 395hp package (with one body or another on it) for a long time now....... and has never built it. I can tell you why they will put in the 345hp 6.0........ because it will cost them alot less money. Now, they will still charge you good money for it......... but it will just give them alot more profit. If the truck sells the way it is, why should they spend the extra R&D to give the public what they want???? Frankly, they could care less what you really want..... as long as they get your $$$$$ in the end. Sad but true.
zippy
from what i understand it will likely have the LQ9 in it although it wouldn't suprise me if they bumped it to 360 or so. it will likely have a 2wd version of the 4L65E which as i recall is only available as a gm performance part currently. it would likely have leaf springs in back with an 8.6 and 3.73 with a torsen or gov lock standard. with that combo the truck might not run with the lightning or srt ram, but it sure will run within a workable range. if this truck goes into production as i believe it will, i will be all over the first chance to order... (btw... i think the gauge cluster in the picture was the one in the trailblazer).
