smithl3
Yeah, I appreciate the deal you gave me on the parts zip man. In due time I'll get the Blue's, got to save some money after the holiday season now. As far as what I have narrowed it down to Zippy, if and when I tear into this thing do you think just the blue clutch pack and band will do the trick or is it worth getting a a better planetary set and other hardened internals??? Ours is the 4l-65 right, so everything else should be substancial and all I would need is the pack and band? I haven't had to tear a tranny apart other than this past thursday with the shift kit, but how many hours does it usually take a tech to replace a pack and band?? Thanks in advance
zippy
it takes about 10 hours to pull the trans, install the clutches and band with the proper clearance, and get it back together including pulling it out. for your truck, i'd just start out with the raybestos blues and raybestos pro series band. ShortBus
There are 2 really good trans shops in maryland that I have dealt with. However both of them are near me on the eastern shore.
