matt rem
I am thinking of the 216/220 525/532 114lsa Comp cam, I will use it with my 1.8 Harland Sharps. They will put the lift at 555/563. I am trying to stay away from doing a stall, I just don't know if I will like driving everyday with a stall. Maybe the TB stall. What do you guys think? Will it really kill the low end? This is a hard choice!
zippy
with that cam, you shouldn't lose any low end.
matt rem
Hey Zippy, Do you think it is too small? How about the 218/224 I can use that also with my rockers? Everybody says low intake duration to get these heavy trucks going.
TurbochargedBerserker
Cams are rarely too small. They are often too big. Either cam should work, but you might want a stall with the second. matt rem
Thanks Erik, thats what I was thinking. While I am in there what do you think about changing the oil pump? Maybe to a ported LS6 pump, my oil pressure is like 38 psi at idle. Just a thought while I am in there.
SSLink
I honestly think you will need a stall with either of those cams. In these big, heavy trucks intake durations over 210 degrees do not give you satisfactory off-idle torque for the street. Check with Marc W.. I think he has tried several cams in the 210-220 duration range with the stock converter and has learned a lot from his experiences. So you'd be replacing it with the same pump. I agree with Zippy, that should be a good cam for low to mid power. Going too big with a cam will actually kill your performance more than going on the smaller size. I have first hand experience with that. matt rem
I think I am going to go ahead and get the 216/220. If it doesn't pull hard enough out of the hole then, I will try another cam. Where is Ben? I want to hear his opinion, I know he had the 212/218. hellbents10
Was that list from Comp's site? Or is it the list of cams Ben has used? Just kiddin. 222/224 566/568 112 is my choice with stock rockers and 918's.

I have a 222/222 cam in mine and off idle it's just fine I don't think I lost much if anything down low either.
