Bowtie70SS
My inner CV boot is dicked up, let's just say I didn't do it. I have decided to replace it and I bought the GM replacement pn#26062615. It comes with the boot, grease, and clamps. I looked over the install instructions, and the only snag I see is the swage ring (larger ring). It takes a special tool to compress it...could I buy a regular CV boot clamp at the parts store? Maybe bribe someone at the dealer to compress the ring once I have it together? C'mon any GM techs who have done it? Thanks Dave
Bowtie70SS
I ended up bribing someone at the dealer to compress the inner band that retains the boot...only cost me lunch($10). I thought it was funny that they remembered me "Hey you got that SC'd SS truck don't you?" And I've only been there once in it. That was the easiest axle I've ever removed, didn't even take the tire off. Anyone that needs help with a similar problem, PM me I'll be glad to help out. SuperSport
Thanks for the info. I think most of the guys putting down a good amount of power are going to run into this same problem sooner or later.
