  1. Steve and all,

It was never my intention to slip anything by you. I just never anticipated that people used the option so often.

Tonight I have some guests over at my house, but tomorrow morning I'll come back to this thread, read it thoroughly, and re-evaluate the policy with an open mind.

Sorry there was a lack of communication- there was honestly no malicious intent here.

Thanks everyone, have a good evening!

I have a feeling this list will fill up quick. Zip, feel free to edit and add to this post.

  3. We have decided to put a limit on the time frame for which people can edit their posts.

Allowing someone edit a post at anytime, we felt, only provided a buffer for people to say derogatory things, only to delete them when they got criticized for saying it. By putting a time limit on how long you can edit a post after you've first made it, we hope members will stop and think about what they type, knowing that if they say something that isn't helpful, they can't run, hide, and act like it never happened.

Just trying to insert some social responsibility here.

We didn't publicize the change simply because we didn't want to make a big deal about it. Sorry for the confusion.

We currently have these limits set on how long a member can edit a post after they have first made it.

Members (members with under 5 posts)- 15 minutes

    Senior Members- 60 minutes

    Supporting Members- 90 minutes

    Thanks everyone.

  4. I just wanted to say that the starter of this thread messaged me and would like everyone to know he is not affiliated with the the dealership who is selling the SS.

While most posts like this are from dealer salesmen, I firmly believe that this is NOT the case in this thread. Just a good guy wanting to make sure a kick ass truck gets a good home. So, please refrain from making any accusatory comments towards him, he's just trying to help!

  5. Let this be a lesson to everyone.

If you put an item up for sale, promise it to someone.. then try to sell it to someone else because you can get more money... you will get BANNED.

That is not only bad business, but bad planning, bad membership, and a stupid way to sell things.

People who have been found to try to offer chanswork more and undermine the deal between r8rs4lf will also be warned.

    Thread closed!

  6. Hey guys, just wanted to give a quick hello from italy! I'm about an hour south of Milan for work. US Air lost my bag so i've been living on some purchased clothes for the last couple days, what a PITA. Hopefully today i'll get my bag, but we'll see.

    Hope all are well!

  7. I think I have a card table. Not sure it's going to fit into the VW Rabbit I'm driving this week, but I'll try!!! I'm driving from NH, leaving around 5:30ish am. Will meet up with the group just off the highway (reading all the meet up details right now).

I'm in a light green 4-door VW Rabbit (brand new).

I have Sum1 and Stitches phones and they have mine.

  8. I have a call out for some help the day of the strip trip. I'm looking for someone with a stock, or close to stock SS that has no computer tuning done on it.

I have a Superchips flashpaq that I'm testing out, and was wondering if someone would be willing to do some back to back passes at the track for stock vs tuned. The tune is fully reversable and the SS would be returned to stock after a few runs.

I think this is a really low risk test with almost no chance of messing anything up.

If anyone is interested and will be at the track day, please send me a PM

  9. I'll be there with a press loaner as well, just like Sue.

This morning while on patrol ... I "Bumped", into Susan Mead. (By way of Bumped, I mean Stopped for Speeding)

If you don't know, Sue Mead writes articles for all of the Road & Track style mags. She always has a new vehicle every other week, with manufacturer plates on them in her driveway.  (She live in my town)

Long story short ... we got to BS'n about vehicles. She was driving a 2006 Audi TT Converitble. She was amazed at how "Quick" it was, without even noticing it. She was really impressed that I owned a SSS, especially after I told her that it was slightly Modified for more fun.  (She said, "So you own the only one I see around here?")  So, I also told her about our upcoming get together at Lebanon Valley.  She wrote down the date, and said she would try to make it. Maybe a little side story about us for one of her mags.  This is not etched in stone, but it would be a really cool little story to run.

BTW ... she got off with a written warning ....  :D
