Thanks for the help I did use a dmm in additon to the test light, I figured it wouldn't do any harm as I was I not probing any super sensitive circuits. I wouldn't cut my harness so don't worry... I had bought a harness adapter from a local sound shop, surprise surprise it was the wrong one. I have been online looking at peripheral electronics harness adapters, and have been able to find the one that best suits my needs for about $100 including shipping on ebay! This plus everything I need to run my amps, build my box, and retain my steering wheel controls is starting to add up, looks like this may have to wait until after christmas Oh well it will hopefully be worth it when it is all said and done!

I have an '04 SSS, without onstar/ with bose. I am atempting to instal a Pioneer Avic-d2 double din navigation deck. I have used a test light to back probe all the conections on the back of the streo harness and can not find a 12v swithing source. I have found the orange 12v constant. does anyone know where i can get a detailed pinout? Also any help would be greatly apreciated!! thanks in advance
