Thanks for the compliments. Im very glad i took my 22s off, they looked great but the gas mileage and the power loss just wasnt worth it to me and the times proved it.

Here is the only slip that i coud scan and get to show up that was worth anything. Its my 14.716 run. This was i believe my second run, all runs were manually shifiting at 5800rpm, luanching in 4x4 and putting back into 2wd after launch, temp was 44-45 deg. with overcast.

The temp really helped the air was really good. Yesterday there were snow flurrys and slightly colder, and just a few days ago it was 78 deg, the midwest is enough to drive you crazy. Thanks for compliments. I also had a good run with an srt-10 ram, i know he was a good bit faster but traciton wasnt on his side. He went a 13.9 @ 103 to my 14.7 @ 92. It was still pretty cool, id say he didnt get around me till about the 800ft mark, gotta love the 4x4.

I took my 06 Vortec Max 4wd to the quarter mile today for the second time. I was very happy with the times it ran. It was 45 deg. overcast and a slight tail wind, pretty much optimal conditions. The first time i ran it last year i had 22s on and went 15.2 @ 89 bone stock. Today with the stock 17s on and a cheap ebay air intake my best run was a 14.62 @ 93 and a few 14.7s @ 92. As stated the truck is 100% stock 24,000 miles with only an ebay intake. It was sport compact day and seeing the look on some of the guys faces that got beat by a stock truck was priceless. Best Pass- 14.62@93 60ft - 2.172 1/8mile- 9.44 @ 75.33mph 1320ft - 14.62 @ 93 mph

They also did roller lifters, swapped a car style fast intake which is way to much work and not enough gain and played with throttle bodys after the first header-tune mod. Its really good info since its the same exact motor and there giving real worl hp gains not quoted numbers. I guess next month they will be doing cam and head mods, should be good info for us !!!

Just got the new hot rod mag. They engine dynoed the exact same motor thats in the ss and vmax's. It made 366hp and i think 398trq. That was through the stock exhaust and stock tuning. Then they did hp tuners and long tube headers with high flow cats as there first stage of mods and it made +46hp more and +50tq. So the I would headers and tuning is a very storng combo.

Speaking of tunning, i havent really researched it for my truck. For my vette i just had it dyno tuned with ls1 edit. What are some good tunes for them ? Im going to order up some long tube headers,intake and a cat back here very soon. From what ive seen the long tube headers pick up a good amount of hp. Either way that 07 sure was one nice truck to have for 4 days.

I think the 6speed makes one of the bigger differences.

Im not really about what you guys are saying about the 07 escalade. I rented an 07 escalade a few months ago to drive down to chicago and of course the first thing i did with it was beat on it and test it out. It felt very fast, ive had an 02 escalade,an 03 denali and now my 06 vortec max. I put it in the manual shift mode which will let you rev it to redline and it really feels strong. I brought it back and had my sister drive the escalade just in normal drive and i raced her with the max. I manually shifted at redline and gave it all it had and she just floored it and stayed right at my back door and after 85-90 started to catch and go by me. When the truck shifts by itself it was at like 5,200rpm as to about 6k in manual mode which made a huge diff. The 07 feels alot better than my max which i hate to admit but i guess i will have to start modding. I guess thats my 2 cents

I have a set of almost new (2,000 miles) Bridgestone Dueller AT tires, size is 265-70-17 Perfect conditon $425 and i can mount and balance them for next to nothing if needed. I also have a set of eagle alloy rims and tires, ther are chevy bolt pattern. They have BFG all terrains on them with about 6/32's left, $600 obo I have pictures but dont know how to post, just email me for them.

Every situation is different. I ran a modded SSS and got him, its a toss up.

Price asside, does it perform good.

Does anyone have any specfic gains on this intake. I am able to get a good discount on one and really like the way its set up. I just want to know if its worth it.
