  1. up in ventura county - town of oxnard... just off the 101 freeway... hope that helps... SPREAD THE WORD!
  2. we would be at the complete mercy of tire manufacturers... without the ability to adjust air pressure, one could possibly wear out the tire much faster... read my other post about tire pressure and wear and tear. But, you wouldnt get flat tires without and air system either... I'd be curious to know the performance on these. i can see it now... i am the first one on my block to get a set, and by the next morning all of the kids in the neighborhood would stuff crap between the inserts on the tires... great.
  3. Ok, so as many of you know, i have been a professional bodyguard full time for close to 15 years now... etc, etc, etc,... So one of many perks i get in the biz is going to movie premiers, both working them for actors or just as an invited guest. Last night, the star of Redline, Nathan Phillips, invited me and my business partner to the movie premier... i worked with Nathan during the filming on stunts and training. So the movie was basically a grown up version of Fast and the Furious, with exotics rather than ricers with tons of money wasted on them. The movie has some amazing cars and of course the same movie line as all the rest of the recent car genre movies... guy gets killed, brother avenges death, and along the way meets a girl, falls in love... etc etc... the stakes are higher, the cars are nicer, but the acting falls WAAAAAY short of anything worthwhile. If you are an exotic car enthusiast, i say go see, otherwise dont waste your time... the story line and acting sucked big time...lol. The only time i laughed was when they decided to fly a jet to Vegas and something happens along the way that is so over the top lame that i laughed AT the movie instead of with the movie... I would give this movie a 2 out of 5 stars... and that is just for the sweet ass cars... Final - Wait for the DVD.
  4. ok... maybe not a website... didnt realize there is something similar.. but still a photoshoot with your whip and a chick aint too bad for around $20-$30 bucks... plus you get to meet other people and chill... LEFTCOAST - see you there! so far my grandma has agreed to pose next to any fords... bah! SOCAL owners... step up...
  5. I am starting a website and wanted to know if anyone would be interested in the following idea i have.... 1. get professional pictures of your truck or car with a model or without... models provided 2. Get a disk with all of your pictures on them. 3. your own page on our custom car and truck website... almost like a version of cardomain I am thinking about having a car truck gathering at my shop here in socal... i would have models come in, a professional photographer and take pictures of your whip with the model of your choice. You would have the option to get a couple of pictures on our website too. all for under $100 bucks... plus it would be a great place for everyone to come out and check out some cool rides... if you are interested pm me for details... i already have several models interested... hey it would be a cool place to meet some girls too! hope to hear form you and tell your friends.. this is not just open to silverados... anyone can come... wouldnt it be funy if some super hot model ended up posing next to a ford pinto or something... holy hell that would rock! hit me up... me and a couple of members are already down... i have the photographer standing by and a huge parking lot empty...heh. this could be an all day event - can you say tailgate party!!!
  6. bring it to california... you should have no problem getting mid 30's for it... wow... easily!
  7. wow... thanks for all of the post and recommendations...!!! ok i went out today and got the interior - full katzkin seats - Dark Granite leather with Navy suede inserts with navy sticthing... i am also getting my under seat sub box covered in the same exact leather - dark granite. They are installing it all this tuesday... i will post some pictures. BUT - for all of you brake enthusiasts... i am getting those the follow week... Baer Alumasports. I also ordered today a custom tune (new pcm) from Zippy along with a custom Zippy HD shift kit - billet servos etc... to go with the new SC! Cant wait to get that done... i should have a lot more performance and better shifting. I want to thank everyone for welcoming me into the site... even though i have a fake ss! oh well... if i would have known i would have taken the truck this far i could have bought an SS and saved money as i am into my truck way more than a new SS... i guess i am the dumb one! As far as having black lights... i dont have stock lights, they are LED's along with this third brake light, so the untinted color looked horrible... once i post all of the new pictures, after next week, you will see the truck much better than that far away shot i posted... I wonder if i can order the Baer brakes in blue... hmmmm that would be something... off to go look into that now.
  8. pssst - it's ounce - shhh i wont tell anyone...
  9. gee, now i am more confused... thanks!
  10. i have a SC - with stock brakes on a 2004 silverado clone SS... what should i do - brakes or interior? Regardless, i will get both eventually, but what would you do first... i have a truck show coming up.... basically a show and shine...
  11. that is too funny... i'll be sure to show him when i see him again... and yea, i do know him...lol.
  12. ok - truck - 5.3L - radix SC 3.4 pulley problem - between 1st and second gear there is tremendous lag... takes ten minutes to shift under wot... ok maybe not ten minutes, but the transition between 1 - 2 is horrific. I have the stock tune from magnuson (hand held supertuner) i have stock trans, 4.10 gears, posi rear end - 24" wheels - soon to be changed hopefully. i am thinking about changing the pulley to 3.2.. but once you change the puller magnuson voids the warrantee... so - please help with my question- what can i do to shift gears harder,,, i could care less if it shifts hard under normal conditions either... i just want the tranny to last and to change gears without the lag or torque management killing it. thanks D
  13. you pay 13 a month??? threaten to cancel, i did, now i pay 6.95 a month... so does ALL of my friends... you pay 13 a month??? threaten to cancel, i did, now i pay 6.95 a month... so does ALL of my friends...
  14. anyone heard anything good from - the Los Angeles Performance Division (the LAPD)... heard good and bad... they are located in Canoga Park - in the SFV...
  15. I have a 04 5.3L silverado CLONE... engine is stock except for the recently installed magnacharger with the stock pulley and stock tune from magnaflow direct. i have a magnaflow cat back system and an injen CAI hooked to the SC. i have 4.10 gears with... drum roll please.... %$!@# 24" wheels... yea yea yea... i know... but the wheels are staying, for now... --insert back story here-- the truck was originally purchased after a long time of driving a company car and not needing a car of my own... i never really had any intentions to make this a FAST truck only a socal version of a show truck... but not too extreme... just a nice daily driver. In retro i should have passed on the 24's if i wanted to get some speed out of this... but anyways, the truck is clean and gets compliments every day because it doesnt look like a truck right off the lot... custom paint, wheels, etc... I am sorry to say, but one SS looks like another, unless you mod it out... my silverado doesnt look like the same model off the lot! Dont get me wrong, i love the SS... and wish i had gone that route but what is done is done.... --back to the post-- so... here is my dilemma... when i get on it from the start... the truck lags... and it feels like the transmission isnt letting the power to the wheels... and when i shift it feels like a long transition... not like something is wrong, but from what i was told the "torque management system"(?) isnt letting the truck shift hard... so i told the shop who installed the SC and they said to leave it alone and ust drive it or else i would blow the engine/trans/etc... my transmission is stock... i had corvette servos on order but the shop didnt want to install them... whatever. i need some advice and this is the main thing... i dont want to go out and make a 10 second truck... i just want to be able to get off the line faster and shift harder without the shift lag... here are the options i was considering... please pick one or all or something in the same ball park 1. 3.2 pulley 2. HP tune / dyno tune 3. leave the truck as is... please no over the top mods like - "dude, pull the engine and put in a 572 and then a SC with a 1.5 pulley with a bullet proof tranny..." i know i will never be in the same league as a blown SS 6.0... but i could use a bit more without wreking my trans... this is after all my daily driver... thanks in advance...
  16. and who says you dont learn something new every day... thanks bro...!
  17. ok, call me a sick bastard... but i would love to buy the intimidator number #666.... i wonder if it came stock in red??? I would color match every last nut on that truck black and have a red steering wheel... heh... license plate would be - 666 TRK
  18. there is a lifted SS in my area... it looks strange to say the least!!
  19. i recently stopped eating red meat... i mostly eat fish and occasionally chicken... dont ask.. favorite is teppan grill, like benihanas... i love the place - chicken and shrimp... i could eat there every night.
  20. For years i have trained in tactical driving and have owned a large west coast bodyguard training facility. I have been through several EVOC driving schools and have trained with one of the most notable driving instructors, BOBBY ORE, there isnt much i cant do in a vehicle. i only mention these thing to base my information on some credibility. it is a little know fact that tire companies mislead consumers... take your average tire... with a DOT marking/number (department of transportation)... regardless of type or size of tire, every tire hs a MAX PSI number... most people are under the impression that they should not over inflate the tire past this mark for fear of the tire exploding... well i am here to tell you that is entirely false... the DOT clearly states that max PSI is determined by one thing per tire group... they will take a batch of tires that a manufacturer makes and tests them accordingly... they will use a test rim and inflate each tire until it explodes off of the rim... and then take 1/10 of that reading and that number will be the max PSI.... so if a tire reads 44lbs max psi the tire must maintain air pressure (brand new tire) at 440 psi without exploding!!! most tire manufacturers tell you to not exceed that amount and to put less in... for two reasons... tire wear and ride. Your tires will wear out considerably faster at low tire pressures, and your ride will be much smoother too. for performance and tire longevity, (almost 5x longer!!) inflate your tires on all of your vehicles more... trucks -SUVs - 5-6psi over max (example - max tire pressure listed on the tire is 40psi, inflate to 45-46) cars - 4-5psi you will get alot more performance and tire life... please research this yourself and use at your own doing... i have done this for years and it saves me gas, tires, and added performance... ALWAYS check your tire pressure when you get gas... VERY IMPORTANT... you can spend a million dollars on a car but when it is all said and done with, you only have 4 small patches of rubber keeping you on the ground... you should not neglect this very important part of your car... 21. LOVE-LOVE-LOVE THE INTERIOR!!!!!!! DAMN THAT IS A NICE FAUX WOOD KIT.... WHERE DID YOU GET IT???
  22. beleive me when i say i gave him a few Mr. Lumpy's... here is his pic after i got through with him... i must say on his defense, he did apologize after he saw himself in the mirror...
  23. actually it is an easy learn as long as you keep it slow... you can always turn out towards your window sharply to avoid tiping over... in fact he has only tipped it over once in hundreds of attemps if not more... he has done this in many movies. And yea, it is an actual straight axle... welded in place... sounds funny when you turn the corner when on all fours. Plus the truck is a track only vehicle, a training vehicle really. We have a 2 day tactial driving course with Bobby Ore. He spends half the year in his florida track as well. He has done stunts for hundreds of movies and teaches actors how to drive... he was the main team on Dukes of hazzard, just about every major car scene in the movies - matrix, the island, swordfish, many more... for more info - check out my website - www.usabodyguards.com and www.socalbodyguards.com later
