  1. Contrary to all the ebay sellers touting 8000k-12000k HID bulbs, the true fact of the matter is the higher the k value is on the color spectrum, the LESS intense the light actually is (because of less lumens). Best?, daylight has been proven as the best light and least fatiguing light at 4100k which corresponds to 3200 lumens. It's for this very reason oem car manufactureres pick that value. So, in short, remember guys, brightness is proportional to the lumens output which is proportional to the k value. Many 8000k bulbs are only around 2000 lumens which is not much better than halogen, if any, and MUCH more tiring to drive by.
  2. On the SS the limiter cuts in at 160kph I think, I know everyones probly wanting to increase that, but for the time being I might want to decrease it to 120kph to avoid more speeding tickets for a while! . Is that within the adjustment scope of OBD-II?, thanks
  3. ..chill... a newbie cant start a new thread till 5 reply posts so I had to reply to an existing thread just to introduce myself and start the 5 posts needed to start a new thread of my own!. As this was my first and only post (o.k in the wrong forum) you just happened to win the lottery to get jacked as you put it. peace.
  4. Wassup fellas from New Zealand.. Not a newbie to chevys, '70 elcamino, '93 S10 Tahoe etc or big trucks, eg '90 F150 4x4 etc, but now, drum roll please...a new owner of a black '04 SS, all stock except for a perfect conversion to Right Hand Drive. Just 15000km (10,000mi) on it, all the options blah-de-blah. Any fullsize American pickup is rare'ish here, particularily later modes. I dont know how many 'real' ss's there are here, but likely count on ONE hand. Prob NZ members here already?, say hello if there is. P.S truck proved its surefootedness coming home 500mi in big storms on my first day, passing everyone who had pulled over off the road to wait it out. A 6 hr trip in this thing seemed like an hour and a half!....and been enjoying it ever since. Well back to lurking for now, this is one of my trial five posts before I can start a new topic {apologies for double post, put first one in wrong forum}
