  1. WHAT?...What a joke. You mean that is all it takes to pull home truck of the month?

    :jester:

Haha... . You have an amazing truck - it's a testament to several things, but unarguably your taste and work quality. Now that I think about it, it's a dang good thing you are such a stand-up guy, cause sharing a town with such a damn nice truck is kind of downer...I mean...I always have to go home and drive my truck, not yours. Talk about serious jealousy.

  2. I think internet connectivity in a vehicle is a great idea. Geez, you can't protect stupid people from themselves. I'm kinda surprised to see posts applaud the SC's decision on 2nd, but think a potential internet distraction is a bad idea because idiots will misuse it. Chrysler might not share my vision of the kinds of coolness this could bring, but a connected vehicle would be great IMO.

  3. who asked you anyway? geez! go back into hybernation would ya :jester: ! you are prolly right tho. i mean what do i know about water anyway? i am just a car installer?!

we are hittin the hooters show on sunday if you are up for a lil bs-ing? stop on by. i gotta take some High res pics if you know what i mean!

Nice. What time on Sunday? BTW, they just announced evac for portions of downtown!

  4. I think the flow rate numbers coming outta the lake are much higher. They were talking about peaks of 1.2 billion gallons / hour. That'd be 20 million gallons / minute or 333,333 gallons per second! Think I saw a quote that that rate would fill all pools in the city in 12 seconds. As long as I didn't just make that crap up, that'd mean that the 66,000 gallons Chris referred to would come out in .2 seconds. Craziness.

  5. I went with Cooper Discoverer HT Plus. I had a bit of initial regret as the new coopers just didn't have the same aggressive / sporty feel on dry pavement as the old bald goodyears. But after digging out one of the goodyears and looking at it again, heck, they were practically slicks. So I guess I shouldn't be surprised. After a full winter on the HT Plus...nothing but two thumbs up. I was surprised how little I felt I had to keep my foot out of the gas throughout the winter. AWD in the snow was tons of fun and these tires handled admirably. I will state, though, that I've never had a chance to drive another SSS w/ other tires in the winter.

  6. Not sure JB, snug tops are nice tops but iam really not feeling it all the way :dunno: .. not sure one of those things that i would have to see in person.. what are you needing the top for ? more storage for the goodies when boating or just for looks.. get a hard tonno like Chris's and add the electric arms to it. just like his..

Honestly, I'm not really considering one. I guess I wasn't that clear...I just hadn't made up my mind on the look. I don't have a need, so won't be getting one. It was just a different kind of look so was curious about the responses.

  7. I have been fortunate enough to have seen this creation and it is A-freaking-mazing. Definitely drool-worthy already, both from an aesthetic and audible perspective. Even more anxious to hear this puppy get dialed in. Man, if you were to ever change your screen name I would propose '12Vwizard'!

  8. Chris and April, thanks for hosting - that was an impressive turnout and great time given the FREEZING weather! And it was great to meet some new faces, too. Sounds like a good string of events and get togethers planned for this summer - I'm stoked. Yes, Chris, I will make a few of them. :jester::cheers: Maybe I'll finally break out of the stock truck club sometime this year, too. I can't keep up with you all.

[insert another sentimental nod about how cool it is to have such good people on this forum.]

  9. I've got Hawks pads on mine and they fit just fine in the stock anti-rattle/sqeak clips. What part number pads did you order?

    Here's the ones I used HWK-HB323F-724 and HWK-HB385F-640.

I'm baffled. Those are the exact part numbers that I ordered. I even checked again when I opened the box from summit. The notches in/on the back of the pads are far more round than sqaure - the pads with the clips installed wouldn't even budge - there's just no way these pads + clips will fit. Shop assumed, much like I and others have, that I just put the wrong pads on...but they tried several other brands with the same outcome. Odd.

  10. The truck is currently in the shop as I've just had no time lately to do anything myself and the maintenance items were piling up. One of the items I took it in for was for a rattle coming from the front end. This noise was due to the fact that the hawk pads I put on last fall won't fit over the retainer / anti-rattle clips, but this left too much play and the pads now actually rattle up and down (not in/out) in the caliper. The shop is reporting that they've brought in 3-4 different pads and none of them fit with the stock anti-rattle clips. Anyone else faced this? What pads are you using? If using aftermarket pads, are you using these clips? The shop is being great about not charging me for this labor, but I really want to resolve this annoying noise. Any help greatly appreciated!

    Kind Regards,

    Jared
