  1. I wouldn't mind a center console mounted shifter, though it is not a deal breaker. I no longer have the overhead console, though I kept my clip on sun glasses up there, never had a problem. Never found a use for the other cubby hole where the 4wd controls should be, never really put forth any thought into it.
  2. I am running an Eclipse AVN 6600. 6.5" screen, CD/DVD/Ipod/MP3/NAV/Rearview Camera. Has two seperate drives, one for the CD/DVD, and the other for the NAV. Just call Eclipse or whatever to get a new/updated GPS disk. The unit can be 'tricked' to play DVD's and such without being in park. Does have AUX video output, and has a video input as well. I like it.
  3. That's the American Way! Something gets in your way and piss you off, blow it up! Anyway, I hope things get better for you and your family, and all of the others that have been displaced by this. At least you still have your life and your family!
  4. I can't say for sure but I see no reason why a wider tire would hurt the system... I would say as long as the tread and overall height of the wheel and tire are the same at all four corners, I can't see a problem occuring. As long as the wider tires are on the rear, as to not over work the power steering.
  5. Well, to add my experience... LED's can get very picky with custom installs. Yes, they do draw less power, but your application provides a consistent power supply, as well as they are also a "dimmer" type, which LED's are VERY BAD being used that way, cause the dimmer works by reducing the total amount of power to the bulb causing it to get dimmer/weaker. The fact LED's require a significantly less power, it usually requires a resistor to reduce the power it's given, preventing it from being over powered / surged on. Plus, the power inside the wiring is also has no where to go when the LED won't take it... causing stress to the wire. You also get what you pay for as well....
  6. Welcome! As far as everything else... :withstupid: :withstupid:
  7. Got 35% on the front windsheild strip, which you can only due 6 inches or to the ASE(or what ever it is, don't feel like going out to look) mark, and 35% on the front windows, rear are all stock. Though, my windshield was done low enough to make it look right.... My tint guy told me that was just 1 shade darker then legal... so I can get busted... but if I get busted... the cop was going to find something reguardless... and my FD labels will get me out of it, lol, except while in the city. Also, it cost me $70 all together.
  8. If you have a "true SS" then yes, you'll already have the bumper and brackets.... Not to be a smart alec to someone new, would like to help you, but with your wording, I have no clue what you are talking about. FYI, I have a true SS. LOL, just had to add that!
  9. Got no chevy there, so I say not.
  10. I'll travel a thousand miles to go to that car wash, lol!
  11. Not bad looking truck... got alittle excessive, but still looks good.
  12. I have honestly thought about the brush guard.... Hate me if you must, but I do use the SS as a REAL truck.
  13. I've thought and wanted to do the same... though, if you guys only seen how muddy the SS gets from time... got more scratches in the bed and tailgate then most work trucks, lol. Should have got the HD, but love the sport yet functional purpose of the SS, just saddens me to see it used as a truck.
  14. Mine still goes into OD. It increases the shift point and pressure. Also, it will hold a gear for a lot longer, like if you take your foot off the gas, it'll hold that gear for if you are coasting. It also allows the engine to provide more of an engine brake to assist in slowing a trailer.
  15. A friend of mine calls my SS Big Blue... I had a Blue Chevette, a Navy Blue Camaro, and the SS at the same time... the the SS is the biggest.
  16. I just did the same thing, for the SSS. We had some lay-offs in December, largest in company history, pervious record was just 4 at one time... we laid off about 20 or so at my facility... half has been recalled since. We're still at the top of our field, just waiting for people and busniess to start building things again. People still need plastic, just not buying or building anything new. Our mirror department is about to fold, they are only running 1 shift, 3 - 4 days a week now, and then they still can't find enough work... extrusion though is still operating like normal, for the time being.
  17. They just had to program the cluster, not the computer. Though, I had to go in once, they looked at it, and then had to order it, took nearly a week since it was a 'warranty part' then brought the truck back (never had to leave it at the dealership). Though the first cluster that came in was also defective (would not accept the new program), and it only took 24 hours to get a new cluster in, since it was a part replacement.
  18. Holy Crap! At 23, I'm scared to death to even become a father! Looking at pictures of the family (mom and dad), he looks like he's 5, and she looks closer to 18, she's 15... that's too young to be a mother or father as well.
  19. Sorry to hear, and I wish you the best of luck on getting back on your feet.
  20. Or just ask Zippy himself... lol. Sorry, had to be a smart***. You very well may develope a bound with the previous owner.
  21. What a rough scene to handle... I feel for the family. I hope they get all the help they are going to need. On a side note, if you need to talk, I'll listen.
