  1. Have a few SS.com guys in my friends list, but they never seem to sign on anymore. Any Battlefield guys out there? BFBC2... squad up soldier!
  2. Lol, thought it got repo'd once when I parked one space to the right one night. Came down the stairs and didn't see it through the window... heart jumped a few beats.
  3. Congrats man... I like the ring. Gold isn't my thing.
  4. No problem. How does that work with the IBEW? I know our local has a contract to not strike during a dispute. Are you not allowed to travel while that strike is in effect?
  5. No-one is held accountable for their actions anymore. Too many anonymous representatives and spokesman now-a-days. Every higher up that makes a corporate decision (ie: refuse a customer service issue as "policy", refuse to make right a mistake as "policy"... etc) should have that decision tied to his/her name as public knowledge. /rant
  6. So the IBEW can choke on one because your wife was pregnant and she became upset about a labor dispute? Seems one sided. She should have taken leave from her job... and not expect special sensitive treatment in a very hostile industry. As far as the OP goes; Verizon has always been this way... good luck brother.
  7. Looking for a drivers side BOSE speaker cover (the mesh cover with the bose logo) If you have one, please PM a price shipped to 19803 Wilmington, DE. Thanks. May also be interested in a driver seat (heated, power, etc)
  8. Will the electric fans fit my 04? What would I have to do to get a harness for it? May be interested...
  9. So I just bought a Speedsturr lid (second hand) and everything is great except a preeeetttty big space between the sides of the truck and the tonneau cover. I can fit my finger between the lid and the rear fenders from the tailgate to the cab with no problem. I really hate the way it looks, it looks like it's the wrong fit for the truck. Has anyone else had this issue? I checked the model number and it's for my year/make/model.... Is there a way to fix this? I have noticed the lid doesn't actually touch the bed-rail underneath, maybe it should and this would make the cover sit lower (where the fender is wider)? Any info would be appreciated. I almost hate it. It's dark right now, so no pics yet...
  10. Congrats and good luck man... Really cool to name hm after your grandpa... I know grandpa's are a rare breed and just as much a father figure as anyone could be... sometimes even more. God Bless.
  11. I think I found it by chance. I was routing an ipod cable from the trunk and as I stuck my hand behind the trunk liner I felt a very hot piece of metal. The antennae motor was burning hot. Being that the antennae was broken, I'm assuming it was trying to lower the "raised" antennae and continued to do so after the car was off. Figured I'd post up just for records sake. Thanks guys for the help... by the way, I did the draw test and got nothing. I believe I did it right (used an auto-ranging ideal DMM with .000 placement of sensitivity placed in series with the positive terminal of the battery and the positive cable while they were detached). (I have little/no experience with auto wiring or complex DC circuits)
  12. What a piece of trash those guys are. I don't know if they're stupid or a group of sadists. That's such a violent impact, I'm sure he broke his spine. That was an intentional head on collision in reverse. Acceleration like that is not safe at all. Hitting the floor was the least of that guys worries, the damage was already done. I'm sure his head and neck got messed up as well. Being that a human head is about 10lbs he could have broken his neck being so top heavy. If my friends had done that to me, I would honestly hurt them as if they were strangers. Guaranteed it was a homeless guy they paid off with that bottle. Hope they all burn.
  13. I speak from experience. You get what you pay for. I bought a set of ebay projectors (Sonar Manufacturer). They didn't come with instuctions and needed resistors wired in series to prevent halo (BMW ring) damage. They had a projector in the center, a halo ring around that and LED's on the corners. If those are the ones you're looking at, avoid them. They looked bad butt on the truck but were horrid to drive with. There was this line on the road that went from lit to pitch black, with no graduation. Very very difficult to see.
  14. 14.7 to 15.4 driving normal (semi-hard) Best I got was 22.1 coming from VA (reset on highway and cruise at 68, 100% highway AVG) Normal mostly highway AVG is 17-18 on a road trip. I've never seen anything I have done influence my MPG. Injector cleaner didn't work for me, E3 plugs didn't do anything etc etc...
  15. I'm jealous that you have a sunroof and I don't so I'm refusing any advice! Honestly, I'd go to the dealership. If something were to happen in the future you would have a better course of action with the dealer as compared to a private party shop. Just my gut feeling. Jim.
  16. 133k with original engine and tranny... 100% trouble free up until 121k (hubs and rotors) Now I have some diff noise and a messed up universal. ("normal backlash" my @$$ Chevy Dealer!!!!)
  17. Charging system was good at 13.8v to 14.4v (varies by rpm's). Diodes as in mosfets/jfets and bi-polar gates? :0) Half Wave Rectifiers baby! lol. I appreciate all the help guys. I'll be checking and pulling the fuses one by one when I get home from work tomorrow. Will post the result as I find it... just for spits and giggles. Couldn't believe I didn't think about the fuses... that's the first thing I was taught about electrical troubleshooting; Logic, Control, Systematic, and Isolation. I was looking through the wiring schematics in my GM service manual thinking "how am I going to test all this?!" Never even looked at it as fuses were tiny disconnects for every circuit in the car. Sometimes you have to be on the outside looking in I guess. Thanks again gentleman...
  18. All this time I thought you worked at GM... I guess because you knew so much and because of the GM canopy in your Sig's background... ha! That's what I get for assuming. The joke about Aurora's was because they have 5 fuse boxes jammed up with 2 billion mini's.
  19. If so, my tag is DustiestCaliber. I'll take those dogtags!
  20. Just saw it on the bottom of a thread. It made me laugh.
  21. Dan, YOU ARE THE MAN !!!!!!!!! I'm an industrial electrician and for some reason that "pull the fuse to isolate the problem" would have never come to me! Simplistically Genius. You work at a GM shop... do you have any idea how many fuses an Olds Aurora has?!?! I may have to take time off from work to do this :0) Thanks again man... Jim.
  22. Pretty much what the topic says, if I let it sit for more than a day the battery is 100% dead. Not even an interior light or door lock noise. By the way; this is for my beater car (96 Olds Aurora). Sorry for the off topic post, but the Aurora forums are pretty much useless as far as technical grease monkey talk. Does anyone know how to test to find a small leak or short? Special tool or technique? Any help would be MUCH appreciated. All I know about the car is that it had an aftermarket "self install" alarm and a subwoofer. I checked for loose speaker wires and also pulled the fuses for the alarm system. It still drains. I also know that there is a gremlin in the heated seats and lumbar cushions. Sometimes the buttons work, other times you have to turn the fan on then off to get the heated seats to turn on. Thanks all, Jim.
  23. This happened to me about 2 months ago. In my case it turned out to be that the hub housing "knuckle" was damaged from letting my hub get so bad before fixing it. The other possible cause I got was a wearing front differential. I haven't fixed it yet, so I don't have a 100% answer but that's what I was told by the mechanic.
  24. If he is responsible. Yes. Has he even tried to drink and drive? Crack to peer pressure? Etc etc... You know better than anyone on these boards, so... To answer your question... 17Yr Old + Sss + Prom = Gettin' Lucky! Not to crack on our trucks, but it's not like you're giving him keys to an 800 hp turbo viper. It is a manageable truck to drive. (assuming yours is stock or close to it).
