Any body know what i can get a good set used for. I have a friend put some BBK"S on his mustang (Im sure thats a bad word in here...it should be anyway...lol.) and he said he counldnt tell a difference in them and the stock manifolds...will i have to get a tune (which i plan on doing) before i see any improvement?

Some guys say that the K&N is loud, yes there is some induction noise, but I like the way that sounds. Anyway, I run the K&N FIPK year round, and have had 0 problems with rain or snow (we have the 4 seasons here in NY too). I would assume that you would have to be careful with the Volant Ram Air tube in deep standing water and heavy rain. I paid $215.00 for my K&N a year ago through Jegs.
If you research the K&N FIPK's, you will find the 57 and 77 series. The 57-series (like mine) has a plastic tube, the 77-series has the polished stainless(or aluminum?) tube. Go for the 57-Series. Good luck with your choice.

yeah every silverado has them stock.........sorty are= to the gm stock manifolds! ! get long tubes, thats the only real way to go
guess that means i need to start looking for some long tubes then ...huh?

not real sure what mine is ...ill start watching it...i do know that the higher the engine revs, the higher my oil pressure i just dont know how high...ill keep an eye on it

mines stock and shifts hard...im just kinda worried bout the motor holding up @ 6 grand...ya know? i dont wanna throw a rod...haha

Ok i bought my first SS and ive had it for a while but never really thought anything about it but when i take off at WOT the tranny doesnt shift till like 5800-6 grand and when it does finally shift...it shifts
extremly hard...is this normal...sorry for sounding like a NEWB
