  1. Downeast John;........Looks like he let it go for 20. Mine has a couple k more in upgrades with the leer hard remote pop tonneau, and the steel CI hood, and the ARE rims(+stockers). I'm not a fan of the non-stock grills either. Mine has also been fluid filmed and corrosion pro coated on the under body several times preserving the factory finish. It looks newer underneath than does some trucks I have seen new on the lot. LOL. I'm Told folks out in texas would pay top Ching for clean ultra low mile SS trucks.
  2. I'm contemplating selling mine as I never use it. Wondering what I should ask. Its an 03 with every option. I bought it from a car collector who garaged and covered it the day he bought it home. He had it for 2 years when I got from him with 2k miles. I bought it as a toy as well and used it only summers and it was garaged and covered all other times. I have 27k miles on it. Never seen winters or salt. Parked out of direct sun so no fading. All original except steel cowl induction hood and ARE rims (have stockers in storage). Still has original rubber which is 60% and not dry rotted. Has a leer bed lid and has never had anything in bed....factory paint still mint in there. Not a spot of surface rust anywhere or underneath.....fluid film undercoated several times throughout the years. Showroom & impeccable. Exceptionally maintained, obviously. Thoughts from you guys?
  3. So the newer tundra had more HP, the new dodge has way more HP......Anyone run against these and how does theSS do? The last thing I want to do is be embarrassed by a freaking toylet. If need be, I'll add a super charger but I'm concerned about mpg......any thougths on its effects?
  4. I should add that the spark knock is only for an instant. Kinda like the heads get slapped by a hammer once right at fire up. Only when its warmed up. I added 1 QT of nitro (from my rc car 20%) to about a half tank and the knock went away, seemingly. More evidance of cheap gas? Runs perfect otherwise, no ticks knocks or anything else once running. Thanks for your ideas.
  5. Its not piston slap. Does only when warmed up, cold starts are fine. I seem to recall my 4.3 did this as well back in 97?? Might be just cheap gas.
  6. Its a spark knock. I'm very familiar with mechanics and been a bike (hd) tech for years. I have also built several motors from small 2&4 cycle to BBC over the years. If no one else has this issue, I'm thinking poor fuel or faulty ecu or associated sensor that pulls timing for start-up.
  7. 04 SS, Spark knock at start up, only when warm. Its just a quick knock and is gone as soon as its running. Anyone else got this? Runs perfect otherwise. Only 10k miles on it. Premium fuel highest grade makes it better but still there a bit. I normally run 89 octane unless I'm towing then 91. Anyone? Thanks.
  8. Black AWD 6.0 HO Silverado SS 8k miles, Garaged. Covered. Brand new condition. Every option including Bose, dual zone climate control, on-star, Heated memory leather seats. Free XM for another year+. Leer color matched hard tonneau with remote open. Truck has never seen snow or nasty salt, and very little rain. Overmaintained with mobil 1 synthetic lubricants. All orginal with no modifications. Babied. Underbody has 3 coats of corrosion pro (corrosion control) and it looks new as well under there. Professionally applied paint sealant. This toy has basically been garaged since delivery, and only driven on nice days. Never worked in any way. Always covered, sometimes garaged and covered! Sure you'll find a well worn, or barley maintained one for less. You get what you pay for. Looking for fair and reasonable offers. Comes with a $400 premium breathable cover. Please save ridiculous offers for other trucks of lesser quality. Call me at 603-624-0035 or email at [email protected]
