  1. Just curious, since you have these great programs for heads, can I check out your business website. You must have winning cars going down the track or cars running on the street with your equipment. Also do you compete in engine masters that has the best engine builders in the country. Unless you work for bischoff or kasse I doubt you can beat us. Not sure why you can't pm with your number and tell me this over the phone and not trash this thread. How about you and the other guy quit talking about it and have a challange on ls heads.
  2. Here are some pics of finished 243s that were CNC, valve job, and blend. Flowed 315
  3. If you can try to get a set of LS3 rods, much stronger. Also found this pic on LS1 tech
  4. Try to take the spark plugs out, pressurize the system, and turn the motor over. You can for sure find out if anything is going into the chamber.
  5. I agree with you 100%. Just because your heads flow better doesn't mean it will run better in the car. There are people out there that just build heads to out flow everyone on the bench. We port and digitize our own cylinder heads.
  6. Well there is a couple things you can do. One way is to use a helicoil, if it's worse then that we would have to weld it up. This is something I would be interested in doing. Please pm with you info and I can give you a call.
  7. Hey guys, i was going to put some pics of a set of 243s that I finished up and getting ready to put on a C5 today for a head and cam swap. This was a CNC, valve job, and blend. They flowed 315. Do I need to put the pics up on photo bucket first or is there a way to take it of the computer?
  8. SAM Racing http://www.powerblocktv.com/episode/HP2012-14/building-the-ultimate-true-street-race-engine#.U_AiJktN1Zg
  9. holly crap guys you must have had bad experiances before. I am currently working on a set of 706 and 317 heads. I will post pics here in a bit of working progress. I do know how to port but most of the heads will be cnc done. Now the cnc part won't be free but once i talk to you on the phone you will have no problem sending them to me. trust me i know what the worry is about and it probably doesn't mean anything to say that SAM is the Harvard of race engine building schools. So before one more person says that I'm going to steal your heads or mess them up do you do diligence and research the school and talk to me on the phone. I have no doubt once i post pics and do a set of heads for you guys that i will have to turn down work because there is to many request.
  10. thats a good head, should flow 350 to 370. be carefully when blending the seat to the runner. You want your venturi to be closer to the bottom of the seat. It should be .200 smaller then your valve size.
  11. on the intake I would do 38top 45seat and 64bottom. Exhaust would be 38/45/58. Intake valve would be 45 with a 30 back cut and exhaust would just be a 45. That's for a daily driver, if you did limited daily and track I would do some stuff diffrent.did they do any work on them and any flow numbers?
  12. Probably should have included this right away. sam racing stands for school of automotive machinest. We do everything in house except cut cranks. In the first month we learn how to operate all the machines. Ex. Mill, laith, boring bar, line hone, cylinder hone, balance cranks, cylinder head machine and so on. If someone wants I can build an entire lq9 with 550hp probabaly under $2500. I assure you if you talk to me on the phone you will have no problem sending me your stuff. Thanks guys
  13. Well not to sound like a butt head but I will guarantee that any ls head you send me will outflow and most important outperform 99% of what's out there. I am very confident about working on cylinder heads and I have no problem signing ppapers. Just out of curiosity poopnewton what valve job and valve angle would you do on a 243 head?
  14. Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Alex i am currently attending SAM Racing in Houston TX. I am over half way thru the cylinder head class and have been all the way thru the block class. I will also be starting CNC in Sept. What does this mean. If you want to buy 243s, 317s, 862, 706, L92 heads, well i can CNC, valve job, mill, angle mill, cutt valve jobs. I see a lot of people swappign heads and intakes and wondering why they loose low end power. I can answer pretty much all your ?s and if not someone here can and it will help me learn along the way. I can do majority of the work for free, so if you have any ?s about a set up or some work done just pm me. Thanks and lets build some HP
  15. No warm up needed. the 20 min rule at 2500 rpm with no pressure springs is a flat tapit cam rule.
