So I searched old posts but couldn't find what I needed. All of a sudden last night I had my heat on the floor vent but noticed only cold air coming out and the heat was coming out of the defrost. I'm not sure what's going on. My truck is an 03 and I've never had this issue before. Any ideas what might be causing this? Thanks fellas.

please ship those to me so I can dispose of them properly. honestly, by the time you mod those to where you like them you could have purchased any option you want and they will seal properly
This made me laugh! Yeah I think there is a LKQ near me. Think I'm just gonna get a set of stockers. Thanks for the opinions guys.

Another thing that will greatly help, install the Vette 2nd servo combined with the Superior/Fairbanks 4th/OD billet servo, that will assure max band holding towing in OD. Completely plug the 3rd accumulator passage totally, block it off (it will hit 3rd as hard as the OE 1-2 apply, it's just right!). On the 3/4 stackup, USE STOCK THICKNESS STEELS, if you use thinner steels in the 4L60/700R4 you will burn it up asap. Use the 700R4 pedestal to make more room and get an additional steel & friction in the 3/4 stackup. Do spend the extra $15 and use the carbon band, they're awesome - do NOT use carbon frictions in the clutch disks, we have had poor life from them (ironically) stick with Raybestos Blue Plates. Do spend the extra $55 and sleeve the drum, also install the Sonnax check ball kit too, do everything possible to eliminate the centrifugal apply problem. That ought to make a unit that can tow in OD - the aftermarket lockup clutch is the least of your worries making a 4L60 that can seriously tow in 4th/OD without glazing the frictions.
Don't forget, the brakes in these trucks are CRAP for towing, so if you install any aftermarket converter you can be assured any engine braking will be lost and you need to have trailer brakes and/or a serious truck brake upgrade.
Mr. P.
This totally just blew my mind! I am in the planning stages if a cam/shift kit/torque converter upgrade. I tow a 14' enclosed triler a few times a month so I want to retain my ability to tow but I want to wake this beast up! I honestly have no clue where to start with the cam/converter combo. The shift kit I'm reading up on. Any help/recomendations would be awesome!

Ok, since I just bought a set of 22 inch replicas I went ahead and got two more new tires. Problem solved. But has anyone ever had their tires shaved so that they're all the exact same size? I can't find a shop near me that even knows what shaving is.
-
Does anyone have a parts list for the front diff rebuild? Mine has had shavings since I bought it at 70k miles. I'm at 130k now so I know it's just a matter of time. At least I could chase parts down and be ready when it pukes.

Pic wouldn't load. I added a link to a similar set.

So I've got these ugly tail lights that were on the truck when I bought it. Should I take them apart and paint the chrome part black and then smoke the lens or just buy a set if stock tails? Help me out fellas.
The pic wouldn't load so here is a link for a set nearly identically to mine

Should I have the back two shaved down to the same height? Would be cheaper than 2 new tires.
-
Come on fellas. I know somebody knows. I measured them and the fronts are a quarter of an inch shorter than the back. Is this too much difference in height? I just don't want to kill my transfer case.
-
So I just had to replace my two back tires (305-45-22) due to broken belts. My front two tires have less than half tread left on them. Will the difference in tire size damage the AWD transfercase? Thanks in advance!!

Anybody have a part number for the airlift kit for the lowered awd trucks? I'm having a hard time finding it. Thanks

Question for the transmission guys. For some reason my 99 tahoe will not shift into overdrive when its cold. Once it warms up, it will but not untill, no matter what speed i'm driving. Anyone know what would cause this? Thanks fellas!

Hey fellas. I just bought a 1981 c10 longbed 2wd for a work truck. I only paid $800 for it so it has a few issues. The main ones that are giving me trouble are signal lights, backup lights, and dash lights. I can't find any good wiring diagrams to help me out. Does anybody know of a good website or maybe even someone who works on these trucks a lot that could help me? Thanks guys. I'll post a pick tomorrow. She's ugly but she's got a 350 with a th400 tranny.
