  1. I did use permatex anti seize on all the bolts. I'm thinkin I should first hit it with a thread chaser before I decide to tap it. For a tap or thread chaser i would need a 10x24?? or a 10x32
  2. The threads on the bolt seem fine for the most part. I cant really get my head in their to take a look inside the bolt hole it's hard enough getting my hand and wrench in their to tighten and loosen the bolt. It's the one closest to the wall and a real pain in the ass. I did take it out and try to get it in the right way but it just wont go in. Not familiar with taps at all so what would be considered junk Would it be possible to start the tap through the header bolt flange hole as sort of a guide? Thanks for the quick reply
  3. So i was installing my pacesetter lts today on the ss and surprisingly everything was going smooth( a little too smooth). The passenger side bolted up easily and the driver side was also rather easy until it came time to tighten the final bolt (the one closest to the wall). It went in about 3/4 of the way and suddenly got too hard to tighten. Took it to the muffler guy and told him i had possibly cross threaded it and he just advised me too add a washer. Um, i don't think that would be a permanent or wise solution. So now i'm thinking i should go see a more experienced mechanic. Drive to the machine shop and the guy doesn't even bother to look at it just tells me that i am most likely right and that i can just tap it myself (wtf). So the question now is how difficult would it be for me to tap it myself and can i do serious damage if i don't do it just right? Should i leave this to a professional? Thanks.
  4. Me and a buddy of mine painted ours with krylon fusion for plastic
  5. That is correct. These are not the coated pacesetters. Ima go the same route as the guy in the how to section and just coat them with high temp paint myself. I live in CA where the weather is almost always 65-75 so im thinking/hoping I'll be safe with these. If anyone is still interested the website is streetsideauto.com. The price is actually 257 shipped as long as u type in Import in the coupon code section. Or you can have your order come out to 300 by ordering other misc stuff and then apply coupon code domestic and save $20. Btw thanks 8urhmi for a quick response.
  6. I have an 03 sss awd and I am wondering if the pacesetter lts and ory that are made for the 4.8/5.3 liter silverados fit on my truck? I saw them for 260 on some website and i cant pass up that price i am just hoping they bolt up. Any one know?
