  1. I got the stock 317 heads off my ss 6.0 with around 50k or so miles for 175 plus shipping and paypal.. Also i got a 3000 TCI stall converter i bought for my truck but its to big for what i do with my truck so i want to get rid of it. I paid 616 for it and i might have got 140 miles on it ill take 500 plus shipping or best offer..

    I took them off my 2003 lq9 6.0 they had right at 55k miles on them. The motor that they came off was stock with a tune. I just went to 243 casting heads and no longer need these.

  7. ill have dannys truck in a few days im goin to swap mine in to his truck and we will see what happens

     

     

    i know that my friend put a new one in his truck and the aftermarket one was new and it didnt read any miles. Put the factory back in and it reads what was on it. So from what i see they saved in the clusters. They told him that the dealer had to program it for him.

  10. Just like had already been mentioned, the LQ4 and LQ9 use the same part number crankshaft 12552216. I would have it balanced though, as there is quite a bit of difference in the rest of the reciprocating components. The older style press fit pin LQ4 rods weight in around 609 grams, while the floating pin LQ9 rods weight in around 645 grams. Of course the newer 5.3's and LQ4's starting around '05 got the stronger rods as well with the floating pins and could probably be used just fine without rebalancing.

    I'm sure there is a slight weight difference between the flat-top's in the LQ9 VS the dish-top's in the LQ4 as well.

     

    Bottom line is it will work, but may not be as smooth if you decide against having the rotating assembly rebalanced. If you want to run it up fairly high in the RPM range, I would definitely have it done.

     

    Yeah I see what your saying not sure what year the lq4 is either or not yet ne ways. Who can balance them just a regular machine shop or na? Alos Ill get pics of the crank as soon as i get over to the shop. Also i dont know how long the crank was broke i just know that it was wrecked 23k miles ago lol but from the ware its been broke for a while and also like i said when i loaded it it ran for a fact just had a little tap lol thats y we thought it just need an oil pump. But before it never make a noise at all and ran great. IDK!! LOL!!

  11. Broke the crank? How did that happen?

     

     

    I got the motor out of a wrecked 2003 ss. It hit a tree hard in the front broke the water pump pulley off but everything else looked great i put it in well the balancer looked bent but i didnt have another one so a let it ride cause in wasnt bent that bad. Well i put another 23k miles on it and the oil pump went out on me. I pulled the motor to go ahead and change up a few things and replace the oil pump when i found that the crank was broke right behind the first main and has been broke for a while!! The block is at the machine shop might have to be line bored but he said it looked good. Everyone says that it just broke cause it was no way that it could have ran like that but shee by the rare and plus when it lose oil pressure and my friend came to pick it up we couldnt push that heavy truck up on the trailer and we started it and pulled it on the trailer.
