would there be anyway to open the tailgait by using like a flat head screwdriver to push in or pry open the tailgate latches or something on both sides.. I dont raelly got the money at the moment to get it diagnosed & fixed, just so I can replace a $5 break light..!! I can see one screw in between the gap where tailgate latches are.. but im not sure if there is another screw somewhere since my stepside has a diff light fixture than normal silverados do..!!

One of my Brake Lights went out on my 99 StepSide Silverado... Does anyone know the procedure on how to replace brake lights on my type of truck.. or know of any Diagrams that show you how..?? One thing to mention is that my Tailgate doesn't open at all.. It was like that when I bought the truck, I think a cable might be broken that connects to the handle/latch..!!

Does anyone here know how I would Remove/Replace the DayTime Running Lights on 1999 Silverado..?? I also need to Remove/Replace the 2 License Plate lights as well..?? Does anybody have any info, diagrams, pics, replacement part #'s Ect for doing these Procedures..??

Im looking in My owners Manual at the Fuse Box under the hood Diagram and its showing 5 Fuses for DRL "Daytime Running Lamps" 4 fuses are grouped together in a Square wile the 5th fuse is located beneath that Square. and in the index for the Fuse Names there's 2 listings for DRL ones for the (Relay) an the other just says "Daytime Running Lamps"... So there's 5 fuses associated with the DRL's.... Which fuses do you think i should remove to disable the DRL.'s.??

I have a 1999 Silverado StepSide Extended CAB and both of my License Plate Lights are out.. Does anyone know where License Plate Lights Fuse is located at..?? And If anyone knows of a Diagram of how to Replace those Lights if the Fuse is not the problem..?? Also is it possible to permanently disable the Daytime running Lamps at all. I noticed one of my DRL lights is out and I dont really see the need for them at all so instead of replacing them, I was wondering if I could just completely disable them altogether, or would doing that cause some other problem in the trucks on board computer..??

yeah that looks sorta familiar, what bushing is that called.?? where exactly is that located at..?? is there a bushing underneath the front shocks/springs..??

nah, i don't think that's what it was.. do any of you know where i could look at a good detailed image of a swing arm + suspension diagram of a silverado..?? then maybe i could point out where it was that the tech showed me..

well the ones that the tech pointed out to me where the ones on the swing arm on the front wheel assembly.. how many are there on suspension..??

my driver side power window stopped working but my passenger side window still works fine.. would a blown fuse cause this or is the motor assembly shot..?? what would all would i need to look at to determine what is wrong with the window - why it wont move any more..?? where is the fuse located at for the power window driver side..?? how can you determine that the whole window assembly needs to be repaired or replaced..?? how much does it usually cost to get the window assembly repaired or replaced..??

When I got my oiled changed a yr back the tech told me that my bushings were smashed on my suspension, i really didnt think much of it and forgot about it, but now i remeber him say that an was wondering what exactly he ment..?? what are the bushings for exactly.. my truck is lowered so i think thats why they are smahed becuz when i go over bumps theres not much cushioning or what ever to absorb the shock.. and the bushings take the full blow.. anyone know any other info on what the bushings are for, how to maintain them, how much in general it would cost to get repaired ect..??

I have a 1999 Silverado 1500 StepSide Ext-Cab, The other day we had some hot temps up in the mid 90's were I live in Oregon and then all the sudden it started to rain a lil bit.. My truck is all black and tends to get pretty hot when left sitting in the sun all day, so from the rain landing on my heated up truck + tinted windows it just shattered my whole rear window into pieces from the extreme temp differences..!! So then I had to Duct Taped the sh!t out of it to keep it together until I figure out where the best place is to get a replacement window for it and the cost and everything else..?? So I was wondering if any of you guys would happen to know of any good places to check out to get any deals or discounts or whatnot on a replacement rear window at all..?? the Rear Window has the heater element in it and is also tinted black.. This isn't my truck, but here's some pix of the type of truck that I own..

I have a 1999 StepSide Silverado Extended Cab with a Flip-Up Rear Seat Panel and the transmission hump underneath it on the floor.. So I was wondering what would be the Best Sub Enclosure to get for my setup..?? What type of enclosure and placement produces the best sound for Subs for my setup..??
