Truck finally hit 100K a few weeks ago and I know that is usually the time to replace the Serpentine and the A/C belt. I was wondering what else you guys would replace when doing this. Pretty much rolling with all AC/Delco parts. Here is the list from RockAuto that I pulled together from the AC/Delco website. I pretty much just listed everything. Probably overkill but rather replace it all while the belts are off then have to go back and do it again.

She is very talented. What did you do as payment
-
It's awesome, does everything I need it to do, very durable and well made(just like most DeWalt tools). It has tackled everything from lug nuts, to rusty brake caliper bracket bolts, trailer hitch mounting bolts, to truck bed mounting bolts......
Nice, guess I will have to take a look at this. Thanks for the info.
-
Hmm How has it worked out for you bro. Looks very nice! What have you been able to use on it? Rusty suspension bolts or anything?
-
I dont knw how mutch ur willin to waist on tools, i dont have a compressor i have a set of snap-on numatic guns a 3/8 and a 1/2. I dont have that big monster in the way and makin all that noise. The 3/8 go for about350 and the 1/2 like 400. Come with 2 batteries eatch and the charger. Also have balls like the air tools. Im a tech at a diesel company and i harly use my air tools. Life is mutch eazy and productive.
Nice, so you use the electric gun for using suspension and pretty much everything else. These were my 2 options so far:
or maybe this one
http://www.amazon.com/Bare-Tool-Milwaukee-2662-20-18-Volt-Battery/dp/B002AKKJAY/ref=pd_cp_hi_pw_1
and since I am using this at home only I was even thinking about:
-
Well fellas, since I bought a home a while ago I feel it is time to get an air compressor and air gun to make my life easier and garage happy. Just wondering what you guys would recommend. Of course it would be used from wheels to taking about suspension to anything else I can think of. Getting a little tired of using hand tools in crazy spots and ripping my hands apart. Looking at $200 - $300 for the compressor. Looking for something quite also. Haven't thought about the gun.

First time experiencing something like this and this was definitely and oh shit moment. I was at work and we though someone was moving some heavy equipment over top of us. Then the building shook and knocked somethings off the wall. Immediately got my ass under a table. They evacuated the building and I rolled the hell out. Work in the Reston area and got low heading back to to the southern MD area.

I like 20s personally, not a fan of big rims. I like the look of the SS with 20s on a 2/2 drop, and I also like 22s SS reps on the stock SS height. With what your describing I would stay with 20s so you can go off roading and tow. I know all too well about bad roads here in the northeast. I think personally think 20s are your best bet, still have clearance and wont have to worry about bending your rims as much as 22s. Just my opinion, good luck choosing
Yea I am kinda thinking the same thing. As much as I know the 22 TBSS would look really really good, I just know with all the damn construction and how the roads will be for the next few years I think the 20's would be a better look. Thanks for the advice.
-
Damn glad your bother is going ok man. That was crazy.
-
Well, since the rims that are in my sig below ended up getting some pitting from the wonderful salt roads here in MD I am torn between the options above. I like to keep a nice size profile tire in case I ever have to go off-road but I am not doing any heavy duty off roading. I am pretty sure that even if I looked at some 22"s my gas mileage will go to shit but wonder if it is a major difference from the 20s I have.
FYI I do tow from time to time, I use my bed often, and of course the roads of DC or Baltimore have the issues. Thanks for your opinion.

Normally just OJ but I am also pounding away 1.5L of water to stay hydrated. Makes me go to the bathroom but does the trick. Can't drink coffee. Makes me sick.

What's going on. Here is a link to some pics from a car show I was in today. Almost pulled out third place if it wasn't for this damn El Camino. They grouped that car with us trucks. Hope you enjoy.

Amsoil signature series with Mobil 1 filter all day.

The SS has coil packs and doesn't use a distributor. A set of NGK plugs and either MSD or Taylor wires is what you wanna look for. You can pick the plugs up at the local auto store and order the wires online so you can find them at the cheapest price.
But what I ended up doing was swinging past the dealer since I needed to get something else and got a set of the ACDELCO plugs that came with the truck. Running Taylor wires also. Get you a CAI, Exhaust and Tune and that should do just fine.

I had a similar problem in my truck. I wouldn't have A/C at idle, drive it or kick the rpm's up a few hundred and the A/C would kick on. Turned out to be the low pressure switch. Dealer I bought it from fixed it for free (after 6 trips there) but it is a cheap part anyway. I know because I almost just did it myself until the dealer decided to listen after I told them since the truck is under a month old and under their warranty, they can feel free to replace every part in the system, on their dime, if they couldn't figure it out.
Low pressure switch you say? Interesting. Since the days have been cool I haven't checked but will keep that in mind.
-
I am gonna guess and say that your system is low on charge? I am having a similar issue with my municipally issued '07 Turd Exploder, haven't brought it in to the municipal garage for a check yet......
Well I bought R134a and tried to put some in but when I checked the gauge, the mofo was already in the yellow. I was like WTF!
i am sure your problem is a vacuum hose lose disconected or broken,.
i had same issue but in a diferent car, not sure were to tell you to look at due i have not goten same problem in my s-ss,. but look for a disconected or broken hose some were in engine bay, most of times this run at edges by fenders.
I will have to look into this one bro and see what I can find.

So since we have had the wonderful heat wave in MD my AC has a mind of its own. I can start the truck, let it sit and idle and I can feel the AC fine. While I am driving around cruising at speed I can feel the AC no problem. When I give it just a little bit of gas, the AC cuts out some and then comes back as I let off the gas and drive easy. Any ideas?

Mods: Airraid CAI, LLP long tube headers, no cats, 40 series mangnaflow muffler, taylor wires, trans go shift kit with some extra goodies, T/A girdle, and the icing on the cake, 93 octane Wheatley tune.
-
What would be more cost effective. I would definitely like to break into the 300whp mark and get more tq but if it is going to cost me like 3 -4 grand for some heads and camshafts, would I be better off going for the magna supercharger?
-
-
No I have not scanned it yet but I will make sure to do it.
-
drivers side is easy. take a straight pick and insert through wheel at 9 and 3 o'clock positions. poke straight in while pulling very gently towards you on the bag itself (same side you are working on) wires are color coded and self explanatory
So disconnect battery and air bags fuses also?
-
Might want to remove the air bag then reconnect it.
How hard is that to do.
-
Good evening. So yesterday I went to get into my truck and I noticed that the service air bag light popped up out of nowhere. The truck has been sitting for the past 4 days relaxing from a car show where I had no issues or lights that came on. I already did some Google searches and I am trying to rule out as much as possible.
Ø I have disconnected the negative battery terminal for 15 mins and went back and the light came on.
Ø I sat the passenger seat to see if the ON star light would come on for the passenger air bag and that did so I think that side is ok.
Ø I moved the seat up and noticed that there was a connection behind the seat. Disconnected and reconnected it and the service light is still on.
Are there any other suggestions or places I can look to try and fix this before having to take this in. Thanks for the help fellas.
