thanks all. its my second 4th gen fbody i regretted selling my last one so i plan on keeping this for a while. they are fun cars but i would never daily drive it. way to uncomfortable lol. a little more updates for it. fed ex dropped this off yesterday

most people on here will tell you that if you stay with a 65e. FLT (finishline transmissions) builds a very solid unit. ive had mine for 6 years now behind 2 different superchargers with 100+ track passes. a few people have made it into the 10s with FLT units also

couldn't resist again lol. picked this up locally from a guy who just didn't need it anymore. the car was a good price needs a little work and tlc but overall not bad. its a 99 real SS with factory SLP options t56 with 71k. figured i would share it with the SS crowd since Im never on this website anymore. the car goes into the body shop next week to get the hood and mirrors resprayed there all peeled and faded. already have a few packages in the mail for it also lol
replaced the dash yesterday. it was cracked everywhere

yes i agree. these trucks have been getting marked up to a new level. i test drove a 2015 tahoe LT back when i had my 07 LTZ its a nice truck i was loving it until i saw the price. the price of an LT was more than the sticker for my LTZ. i would rather own a benz or bmw if i was going to have to pay that kind of money.

headers can be a huge pain in the ass or a 3 hour easy install. whether your doing it yourself or having a shop do it id start soaking your manifold bolts with PB blaster everyday for at least a week before you do the swap. its really not hard the biggest problem is the manifold bolts. i would say a shop would quote you at least a couple hundred to do it.

just got home from vacation and my truck has a flat tire

all of that can be fixed pretty easily. still i would never pay 26k for an 03.

if your going to have it professionally painted I would have it painted blue. the black will just look out of place. i would think you bought it painted from a black truck and never had it resprayed lol -
if your looking for 5-550 wheel you will most definitely need boost. a considerable amount at that. unless you plan on building a real nice motor. lots of guys on here have done the 80e swap and some have went and built there 65es. i personally have no complaints with my FLT level 6 65e. ive had it for 5 years now and its been behind 2 different superchargers. there are guys on here pushing 800-1000 through FLT 65e's and have been doing it for a while.

could be as simple as en exhaust leak. its a very common thing for GM truck motors in general to develop leaks from the exhaust manifolds

a lot of people on here including myself have nothing but great things to say about FLT. i would not suggest building your own trans unless your very knowledgeable in transmissions

my friend had a 335i sedan m6 n55. he put a downpipe on it with a jb4 and that thing was fast i loved driving it when he let me. sounded real mean with the downpipe also. great car i would definitely rather have that over an e46 m3 any day. enjoy

the water spots on the windows are so bad and so extensive that not even my porter cable would get them out. i ended up ordering chemical guys water spot remover and picked up a huge bag of 000 steel wool. after 2 hours i managed to get 1 window spot free
