  1. Hey all,

I went to a local car show with the SS today and won first place. I could not believe it. It was a fairly big show and this was their third annual so I thought I would show up. There were a lot of nice looking modified trucks, so they put mine in with a regular truck class. I actually beat out an early model Ford Lightning! :P . Anyway, here are a few pics. Enjoy!

  2. This is something my brother sent me. The guys who respond to things like this might find it intersting. Read the text before lookng at the pics.

"If everything seems under control... You're just not going fast enough"

    > Take a few minutes, look at these pictures individually, slowly and

    > imagine how this took place. THEN take a look atthe whole thing. Read

    > the notes below FIRST !

    >

    > This takes some time to study, to realize what it is you are

    > actually looking at. The telephone pole helps as a reference point...

Sometimes what you see as you first arrive on the scene may not be

    > exactly what you have after further investigation. Although these pictures are

    > of a vehicle accident they exemplify how things in other situations

    > can be deceiving. If you approached this scene from the driver's side,

    > the damage doesn't looks so devastating. However, if you approached

    > from the front or the passenger side your would have a totally

    > different impression of the scene. Fortunately there was no passenger

    > in the vehicle at the time of the accident.

This same scenario can and does exist when approaching any emergency

    > scene or fireground. Do not necessarily take the word of others or even

    > necessarily rely on your first Impressions. Sometimes additional

    > investigation can lead to an entirely different conclusion

While covering for a few hours on E24, we responded on this wreck.

The driver swerved to avoid a car turning left and spun out on an icy

    > intersection. I ordered the crew to stretch a line and was literally

    > transmitting a request for the Entrapment Compliment when the police

    > Sergeant on the scene pointed at a guy standing on the sidewalk

    > saying, "Here's the driver!"

Except for a scratch on his hand he was totally unharmed.

  3. Haha...Don't worry my friend we will have another go at it. I did forget to turn off my traction control for that run, but the other runs I was pretty consistant. 14.9 for the most part. I have not driven the truck since then and am a little concerned about it going into limp mode at the track if we go again, but I am up for another run....bring it!

    Red is still faster!

  4. I work nights 9p to 6a so my sleeping happens during the day. Usually in bed by 8am after sending the kids off to school and get up around 3 or 4pm. Weekends is a different story. Friday and Sat night I am in bed by 9 or 10p, but up at 4am. Sucks sometimes, but at least I get the Cal King all to myself most of the time. :D

  5. Driver claimed a pelican flew low in front of him and he dropped his cell phone. Dont know about anyone else but i didnt see any bird.

Yeah I didn't see any bird especially a Pelican. Maybe he did this for insurance reason. Can you get gap insurance on a car like that?

  6. I was finally able to get the video together from our G2G at Speedworld. We had a great time. Runs are in order as listed.

    Me 14.97

    slo-rod (PT.Net) 14.38

    Diggerdan11 vs 1dirtybird (PT.Net) 15.10/14.38

    slo-rod 14.36

95 bright teal (PT.Net) sorry Jeff my camera did not focus on your run time. 14.7 I think.

  7. I can't beleive I missed this whole get together. I'll be watching and will for sure be at the next meet. That car show sounds good. how many trucks did ya'll have together at the races? Shane

You missed a good time and fun races. There were only a few of us. I would say 6 or 7. The car show would be cool too. Try to make that. Are you here in AZ for school or something?

  8. I had a great time last night. It was nice seeing everyone and meeting new people. I will get a video up later today on all the trucks that ran. My personal best of 14.9. Thanks to Chris (thunder550) for getting my truck back up and running. I don't know what I would have done if you were not there!!!

  9. U idiot the X-runner is a 4.0L. And it could shit kick the silverado any day. X-runner looks nicer, performs better, better fuel economy.

If u brought ur shitty silverado to japan you would be the laughing stock. Japan brings there stuff here and outsells crappy american vehicles. You didn't kill it it was a probably just another fat idiot american driving it who doesn't no how to shift.

    LOL! Douche!

  10. I'm still in the air on this, picked up a 99 sdime tonight and need to get the front end bags re-done so I can get it in my garage, theres still time so I might make it. Geeze that is a far drive!! :jester:

That is quite a long drive. Almost 65 miles. But just think of all the fun you will have.

  11. Are we going to grab something to eat before we all head out to Speedworld? Also how much does racing cost? I know when I go to ride the MX track there its $25, I haven't been to the drag strip yet. See you guys in a couple days.

$20 to race. There are a lot of places to eat at the strip mall where everyone is meeting. I might grab a sub or something.
