  1. He may have swapped them out on purpose, but I'd check closely for collision damage, it has newer model grille, hood and is missing at least one brake duct vent grille.

Dang, last Sunday I was about 10 min away from where the ad says it is, had I known about it I would have gone and looked at it. :(

  2. Guys, I've a problem that I have just been living with since I don't/didn't drive the SS very often.

The problem is it darts all over the road and is especially bad on worn/rutted roads, I dread driving it anymore so I have to do something about it.

I'm running a a 305/50-20 tire on a 8.5” wheel that I think has a 19mm offset. According to the tire spec's, 8.5” is the minimum wheel width for the tire. The factory SS wheel is 8.5” with a 22mm offset.

Since it didn't do it with my 275 width tires on it, do you think I need a wider wheel, such as a 9.5”?

Also, do you think a 20X9.5 with a 35mm offset would work?

  3. I'm trying to sell my stock silverado SS wheels and would like to buy some crappy ones for the winter cz I'm getting 22's for the summer what other wheel /tire sizes can i go with thank you

Are they the OEM Chrome wheels? Conditiion..any pitting, curbing, flaking etc? Do they come with tires, if so what brand and how much tread is left on them? What part of Washington do you live? And finally...how much are you asking for them?

  4. As a matter of fact I just bought 4 pair (wanted a spare set) of the chromed ones. I bought mine through Truck Emblem Warehouse on ebay.

They look to be exactly like the OEM emblems, beveled edges and thickness, only in chrome.

They are cut into a Styrofoam template so all you have to do to install them is pull the cover sheet off of the 3m tape and stick them on your SS. I have all the measurements needed for their placement so It looks like a pretty easy installation. I'm anxious to put them on but I need to give Miss March 2009 some much needed TLC before I install them.

I can remember back 8-10 years ago there was a guy auctioning the chromed ones on ebay and he was getting around $300 for them! He'd put a couple sets up and the bidding would go crazy and he'd sell them then wouldn't put anymore up for several months then put more up...really keeping it a sellers market by making everyone think they were really hard to come by!

For years I've been running some thin polished stainless steel ones an old SSS.com member sent me that don't look too bad, but they aren't as thick nor have the bevel to them. The lack of bevel and thickness has always bugged me.

  5. The Denali's are nice pickups! I've toyed with the idea of selling my SS but then I give myself a reality check by looking at the prices of the new pickups. :noway: About the only time I drive the SS is to haul something to the dump or to haul our camping gear once a year. If I were to give it a much needed detailing I might be more inclined to drive it too.
